Social workers are concentrated more on society works than social welfare organization because of the insufficient employment. Accordingly, it is important to know certain point of social worker's satisfaction to their work as having a tight interaction service with their clients.
This study is a research on social workers on their job satisfaction who participate on social job creation project. After all, this is to discuss and bring out th political proposal to improve the social job creation project.
To achieve the purposes of this, research questions are as followings:
First, what is general characteristic that social workers who participate in the social job?
Second, how is the job satisfaction level of the social workers work itself, personal policy, and work environment on social job.
Third, is there significant differences in the social workers who participate in the social job according to demographic characteristic, job characteristic and social job?
Fourth, what is the factor that influence the job satisfaction level of the social workers who participate in social jo?
In this research documentary studies and corroborative evidence studies were carried at the same time. In order to achieve the objective of this research, I performed a questionnaires on social workers who participate in social job creation projects. Regarding the documentary study, it explored the definition of job satisfaction and deciding factors of job satisfaction throughout preceding studies, so tried to established theoretical basis for survey.
In total number of 105 social workers who participate in social job creation projects in Seoul, incheon, and Gyeonggi-do were sampled. Data collection was done between on October 20, 2005 and February 24, 2006.
Total 137 copies of materials were distributed to 57 social welfare organization and 110 copies were collected and 105 copies was used for the final analysis. I made the questionnaire to measure job satisfaction on the basis JDI(Job Descriptive Index: 1969) and it consists of mainly three parts, totally 31 questions about job satisfaction.
For data analysis of this study, SPSS 12.0 were used. The job satisfaction is classified as the content of job, personal policy and work environment. Data analysis was conducted using statistical methods, such as frequencies, T-test, One-way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis.
The major findings are as follows:
First, the average score of social workers; job satisfaction was given 3.12 point. when we look at each subordinate concept's job satisfaction, it's average is 3.29, average of the personal policy is 2.40, and the average of satisfaction in work environment was 3.54. however, the average of the satisfaction on personal policy showed the bottom.
Second, each special characteristic showed us the significant difference in job satisfaction such as sex, age, marriage, motives and wages.
Third, the influence variable to the job satisfaction was marrage, motives, and a period of work. In the demographic characteristic the influence variable to the job satisfaction was that unmarried person felt less job satisfaction than a married person. We have found out that there were no significant influence to the job characteristic. In the social job's characteristic we have found out that a period of work has an effect on the job satisfaction. From this result, we can know that as the period of work increase the job satisfaction decrease.
The followings are the implications of the results.
First, the people participate short period of work and fall by the wayside because of the less wages. Therefor to have a suitable social job, wages have to be increased to compensate their work.
Second, there should be a opportunity to study and train for the work to improve the capabilities. This is the opportunity to improve the capability of the work study of specificity and diversity.
Third, countermeasure is required to protect the workers from unemployment after their period of contract is over.
