The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of a REBT career group counseling program on self-esteem, career decision-making self-efficacy and career attitude maturity of vocational high school boy students. To achieve this purpose, the REBT-based Group Career Counseling program, developed by Hee-Su Kim and Kyung-Ae Park(2002), was utilized. The subjects of the study were 20 boy students in their 2nd year at the D Electronic Technical High School in Daegu. They were randomly assigned to one of the two groups, 10 to the experimental group and 10 to the no-treatment control group. The program for the experimental group was conducted a total of 8 times, 2 times each week, from June 7, 2005 to July 2, 2005. To verify the effects of the program, pre-test and post-test were carried out with 3 scales measuring self-esteem, career decision-making self-efficacy and career attitude maturity scale. A follow-up test was conducted 8 weeks after the program. To measure the effects of the program, the SPSS 10.0 was used for data analysis. Results showed that the career group counseling based on REBT enhanced self-esteem, career decision-making self-efficacy and career attitude maturity of vocational highschool boys. The effects were maintained for 2 months after the termination.
