This study examined the relations of mother’s child rearing attitude, children's multiple intelligence and children's prosocial behaviors. The subjects of this study were 131 kindergarten childrens at the age of five and their mothers.
Children's Prosocial Behaviors were interpreted with a korean version of Skill Situations Measure for Prosocial Behavior and Hillside Assesment of Perceived Intelligences for Multiple Intelligence. Mother’s Child Rearing Attitude completed a korean version of Maternal Behavior Reserch Instrument.
Data were analyzed by the correlation and Multiple regression analysis.
Results were summarized as follows.
First, there were significant correlations between Mother‘s Child Rearing Attitudes and Children's Prosocial Behaviors.
Secondly, children's logical and mathematical intelligence, which take up subsphere of multiple intelligence, had significant correlations with children’s prosocial behaviors.
Thirdly, mother’s positive child rearing attitude had impacts on children's logical and mathematical intelligence, verbal intelligence, interpersonal intelligence and their own personal intelligence.
Fourthly, mother’s positive child rearing attitude could not be explained by children's multiple intelligence.
