The purpose of this study is to suggest the ubiquitous housing based on changing housing needs and psychology of residents. First of all, housing lifestyles and spaces are systematized through the classification of residents'' housing needs. In the housing needs, health-oriented housing need is focused, developed and health-oriented housing environment factors are suggested through the subdivision of residential environment factors and services. After this process, the concept of health-oriented ubiquitous housing using ubiquitous computing is proposed. Finally, various sensor networks are proposed by the method of sensor composition centered on health-oriented ubiquitous housingThe ubiquitous housing in this study is not an environment operated passively but an information-oriented housing environment that can predict situations of residents and service effectively residents. In order to realize the ubiquitous housing, we need the technological fields such as sensing, context-aware computing, networking and wearable computing. Among the fields, this study explained the method of sensor composition centered on a sensing technology which senses the situations of residents and housing environments. In this study, residents'' housing needs and lifestyles were analyzed with Maslow''s hierarchy of needs. For the purpose of the sensor composition, this research investigated the technological concepts and types of sensors, and analyzed some examples of intelligent home sensors and sensor compositions. This study explains healthy house and health-oriented ubiquitous housing. Healthy house is a house for the handicapped as well as environment-friendly house that aims at ''Health for All''. Health-oriented ubiquitous housing is healthy house adopting ubiquitous computing and information-oriented house that can predict and provide optimal healthy housing environment and service for the health promotion of residents. This study sought out the method of sensor composition based on the service and context of health-oriented ubiquitous housing. Sensors were classified into Physiological sensors, Activity sensors and Environmental sensors according to the service and housing context. Such sensor compositions and networks are useful to forecast what happens to the housing environment and residents and response to the context effectively. In the end, this study proposed the sensor network for health-oriented ubiquitous housing according to the service, housing space and life cycle. This study suggests the sensor network considering residential lifestyle, housing space and service. Particularly, it is significant that the new housing model reflecting social needs for health is developed from the proposed sensor compositions suitable to health-oriented lifestyle. In addition, it is valuable that this study suggests the ubiquitous housing considering not only technology-centered developments but also human-centered services through the deliberation of residents'' housing needs.
