The purpose of this study was to measure the effect of Reality Therapy by class unit for boys highschool students' ego-identity.
To achieve this purpose, 2 hypotheses were formulated as follows.
1. Reality Therapy by class unit will improve ego-identity of boys highschool students.
2. Reality Therapy by class unit will improve subfactors of ego-identity of boys senior highschool students. The subfactors include initiativeness, self-receptiveness, confirmativeness for future, goal-orientedness, subjectivity and intimacy.
The subject of this study is composed of one class(thirty-eight students) in a boys senior highschool in Daegu.
The Reality Therapy by class unit was carried out once a week for 9 weeks and each session was 50 minutes in duration.
The effectiveness of Reality Therapy by class unit was measured by Ego-identity test modified by Lee Seung-Kook in 1999. It was originally developed by Park Ah-chung in 1996.
Datas were collected from results of pre-test and post-test. The SPSS for windows 12.0 was used for the statistical analysis and the statistical significance level for the hypothetical verification was set at .05.
The conclusion of this study is as follows:
1. Reality Therapy by class unit is effective to increase ego-identity of boys highschool students.
2. Reality Therapy by class unit is effective to increase five subfactors that include self-receptiveness, goal-orientedness, subjectivity and intimacy.
