    The aim of the study is to investigate the preference of high school students to the science subjects. The subjects were 3 classes of second and third graders in high schools which are located in Daegu city. Questionnaires were used for second grade students, and data of 2005 college scholastic ability test, for third grade students. The results are as follows: First, students generally tended to select only science I subjects. The rate of girl students who selected only science I subjects was higher than that of boy students. Students who got high score tended to select three of four science I subjects and one science II subject. Second, preference among science II subjects were in the order of Chemistry II, Biology II, Earth Science II and Physics II. Girl students showed preference biased to Chemistry II and Biology II. Students who got higher score showed higher preference to select Physics II than those who got lower score. Third, the exclusion rate of Science I subjects when one Science II subject is selected was in the order of Physics I, Earth Science I, Biology I and Chemistry I for girl students. As students score level becomes higher, exclusion rate of Physics I was lower. The lower level scored students tend to least exclude Earth Science I. The data obtained in this study will provide high school students basis for selecting Science subjects.
