The results are as follows:
First, with regard to the job satisfaction of shop managers, relevant items are categorized into 10 factors. With regard to the job satisfaction according to the demographical characteristics of shop managers, the result shows that men are superior to women in work ability and relationship with the headquarters, while women are high than men in job satisfaction and self-development. With regard to the satisfaction by age, respondents in age 30 - 35 showed high satisfaction, those in age 40 or more showed the highest satisfaction in customer management. In relation to the satisfaction of frequency of yearly training, 5-6 times yearly trainings showed the highest satisfaction. In the meantime, in relation to the necessity of training, many respondents replied “helpful”, which shows that regular trainings are necessary. In particular, those shop managers whose income is associated with performances in sales were found to highly recognize self-development. Marital status and academic background showed no significance in relation to satisfaction.
Second, with regard to the job stress of shop managers, relevant items are categorized into 4 factors including job related factor, interpersonal relationship factor, role factor, and environmental factor. In job related factor, the response of “when there have been no opportunities in relation to the job” is the highest stress factor; in interpersonal relationship factor, the response of “when service is unilaterally forced by customers” is the highest stress factor; in role factor, the response of “when conflict with the headquarters is generated due to the setting of excessively high sales goal” is the highest stress factor; and in environmental factor, the response of “when a specific role is forced by the headquarters without adequate information or cooperative assistance” is the highest stress factor.
