This study aims at the development of the on-line education program with computer for teachers of young children, the presentation of its efficacy, and, as a result, the mobilization of the on-line education program with computer for young children.
The study initially considers the contents of previous studies that have researched the movements of recent on-line education, the trend of computer training to young children, and the needs or requests of teachers. Thus, in order to design the apt program for the on-line education with computer, this study specifies in the development of the principles, strategies, and methods of on-line education, and their implementation and evaluation.
In the arrangement of the contents of the distant education program, the study first organizes the printed teaching materials, and then, reorganizes the images of the printed teaching materials in the computer for serving through internet. The moving images are created in the way of capturing the contents of the lecture: a picture on the screen should be appropriate to the content of the lecture. This study, furthermore, introduces a system for the simultaneous participation and communication of people from different locations or places.
On the other hand, in order to prove the effectiveness of the on-line education program, this study was developed with the aid and advice of specialist groups, such as the present teachers, young children educators, on-line education program specialist, and on-line educators. They have examined the efficacy of this study in its contents, the methods, and the techniques; then, have suggested some tips for various possible improvements in the study. Hence, they have facilitated the adequacy of the study.
The study focuses, especially, on the application of the on-line education program with computer in teacher training programs; it is designed in a way that the same instructor to educate the same contents to two different teacher groups in order to form a comparison group. To compare the result of training two different groups, the study performs the survey of the learning achievements of pen and paper style, the survey of training assignments, and the survey of the learning satisfaction at the end of the program.
The analysis of the process and the result of this study are as the following:
First, in order to differentiate it from the existing programs, this study selects and depicts the method which constructs the session on the basis of operation, and focuses on the practicality of the program, to be practiced in the class right away.
Second, this research consists of lecture-oriented technical practices in view of the characteristics of the training subject. If we want to maximize the effect of the on-line education, we must first of all develop the various learning course according to the changing causes of the learners, and then we must develop the suitable motivation, the interaction, and the teaching-learning methods.
Third, this research has been implemented only in the area of evaluating the learning result, but it is necessary that the formative evaluation or follow up evaluation should be introduced to training program. For the formative evaluation will enhance the quality of education, and the evaluation after a period of time since the training will supply some information on the practical usage of the training.
Fourth, according to the teachers of young children, the advantage of the off-line education than the on-line education lies in the immediate responses or answers to the questions of students. However, the first merit of the on-line education turned out to be its convenience; nevertheless, there are some systematic limitations on taking lectures of the on-line education, and the most of the on-line education lecture units are structured the same as the off-line education lecture units. Thus, in order to activate and expand the on-line education program, improvements in the education systems are soon to be constructed.
Fifth, the on-line education program needs to find a middle way to compensate between its two dilemmas, that is to say, no immediate interaction and the limit of time and space.
