남녀 고등학생의 신체만족도와 외모관심도에 따른 신체관리행동 및 의복추구혜택 = (The) Body management behaviors and clothing benefits sought according to body cathexis and appearance interest of high school students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 남녀 고등학생을 신체만족도와 외모관심도에 따라 분류하고 분류된 집단 간 신체관리행동 및 의복추구혜택을 살펴봄으로써 남녀 고등학생의 신체관리행동과 의복행동을 올바르게 이해하여 교육현장에서 남녀 고등학생의 의생활 지도에 도움이 되고자 하였다.
서울시와 경기도에 위치한 3곳의 인문계 고등학교에 재학중인 남학생과 여학생을 대상으로 설문지 조사를 통해 총 690부의 자료를 분석하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS/PC 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도분석, 신뢰도 검정, 군집분석, 일원분산분석, Scheffe test, t-test를 실시하였다.
연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 남녀 고등학생의 신체만족도는 낮았으며 여학생이 남학생보다 신체만족도가 낮았고 특히 하반신과 전신에 더 불만족하였다. 외모관심도는 남녀 고등학생 모두 높았으며 여학생이 남학생보다 높게 나타났다.
둘째, 남녀 고등학생을 신체만족도와 외모관심도에 따라 집단을 분류한 결과 남학생은 신체만족도와 외모관심도가 높은 집단, 신체만족도와 외모관심도가 중간인 집단, 신체만족도와 외모관심도가 낮은 3집단으로 나누어 졌으며 대부분의 남학생들은 중간집단에 속하였다. 여학생의 경우는 신체만족도와 외모관심도가 높은 집단, 신체만족도는 높으나 외모관심도가 낮은 집단, 신체만족도는 낮으나 외모관심도가 높은 집단, 신체만족도와 외모관심도가 낮은 4집단으로 나누어졌으며, 여학생 대부분은 신체만족도는 낮으나 외모관심도가 높은 집단에 속하였다.
셋째, 남녀 고등학생의 신체만족도와 외모관심도에 따른 신체관리행동을 살펴보면 남학생은 신체만족도와 외모관심도가 높은 집단과 중간인 집단이 신체만족도와 외모관심도가 낮은 집단보다 신체관리행동을 많이 하며, 여학생의 경우는 신체만족도가 높고 외모관심도가 높은 집단, 신체만족도는 낮지만 외모관심도가 높은 집단, 신체만족도는 높으나 외모관심도가 낮은 집단, 신체만족도와 외모관심도가 낮은 집단 순으로 신체관리행동을 하였다.
넷째, 성별에 따른 의복추구혜택을 살펴보면 여학생이 남학생보다 심미성, 유행성, 유명상표, 경제적인 면을 더 추구하는 것을 알 수 있었다.
다섯째, 남녀 고등학생의 집단간 의복추구혜택을 살펴보면 남학생은 신체만족도와 외모관심도가 높은 집단과 중간인 집단이 신체만족도와 외모관심도가 낮은 집단에 비해 심미성, 유행성, 유명상표를 더 추구하였지만 경제성은 세 집단 모두 고려하지 않았다.
여학생의 경우 심미성과 유행성추구는 신체만족도와 외모관심도가 높은 집단이 다른 세 집단에 비해 높게 나타났고, 유명상표 추구는 신체만족도와 외모관심도가 낮은 집단을 제외한 나머지 세 집단 모두에서 높게 나타났다. 경제성 추구에서는 네 집단 모두 보통이상으로 나타나 경제적인 면에 신경을 쓰는 것으로 나타났다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purposes of this study were to classify high school male and female students according to body cathexis and appearance interest, and understand their body management behaviors and clothing benifits sought.
The questionnaires were administered to students of three high schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do, and 690 questionnaires were analyzed by frequency analysis, cluster analysis, One-way ANOVA, scheffe test, and t-test using the SPSS/PC program.
The results were as follows :
First, the body cathexis of high school students were low for both male and female students. And female students had lower body cathexis than male students especially in the lower halves of bodies and the entire bodies. The appearance interests proved to be high for both male and female students, but female students had higher appearance interest than male students.
Second, male students were classified by body cathexis and appearance interest into three groups(high, middle, and low body cathexis and appearance interest groups) and most of them belonged to the middle group. Female students were classified into four groups(the group with high body cathexis and appearance interest, that with high body cathexis but low appearance interest, that with low body cathexis but high appearance interest, and that with low body cathexis and appearance interest) and most of them belonged to the group with low body cathexis but high appearance interest.
Third, male students in groups with high and middle body cathexis and appearance interest showed more body management behaviors than those in the group with low body cathexis and appearance, while female students in the group with high body cathexis and appearance interest showed the largest amount of body management behavior, followed by the group with low body cathexis but high appearance interest, that with high body cathexis but low appearance interest, and that with low body cathexis and appearance interest.
Fourth, female students sought more aesthetics, fashionability, brand, and price in clothing compared to male students.
Fifth, male students in high and middle body cathexis and appearance interest groups tended to more seek aesthetics, fashionability, and brand than those in the low body cathexis and appearance interest group, but all three groups didn't consider price benefit sought. Female students in the group with high body cathexis and appearance interest tended to more seek aesthetics and fashionability than those in other three groups. And only the group with low body cathexis and appearance interest didn't consider brand benefit sought. All four groups were found to consider price benefit sought.
