영아자녀를 둔 취업모와 전업모의 부부특성, 경제특성, 심리특성이 결혼만족도에 미치는 영향 = The effect of couples` characteristics, economic characteristics, mother`s psychological characteristics on infant mother`s marital satisfaction for working mothers and homemaker mothers

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to investigate the differences of couples` characteristics, economic characteristics, social support, mother`s psychological characteristics and mother`s marital satisfaction by the employment status; and to analyze the effect of the couples` characteristics, economic characteristics, social support, and mother`s psychological characteristics on the mother`s marital satisfaction. The data of 1904 infants under 24 months and their mothers from Korean Children Panel Survey of Child-Care Policy Research Institute(2009) were analysed. The data were analyzed with methods of the descriptive statistics, t-test, and the multiple regression analysis. The significant differences between working moms and house makers are found in couples` characteristics, economic characteristics, and mother`s psychological characteristics on mother`s marital satisfaction. The stepwise regression analysis shows that variables such as working mom, marital conflict, husband`s participation in child-care, household income, and psychological distress influenced on the marital satisfaction of working mothers with 43.7 %. House maker mom, showed 45% of martial satisfaction in the variables of marital conflict, husband`s participation in child-care, emotional support, and self-efficacy. Irrespective of employment status, marital conflict and husband`s participation in child-care were found as influential factors as marital satisfaction. Finally, household income and psychological distress influenced on working mothers while self-efficacy impacted on house maker mothers.
