부모의 자아분화 수준과 자녀의 문제행동과의 관계에서 갈등대처행동과 부부갈등의 매개역할

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 부와 모의 자아분화수준이 갈등대처행동에 따른 부부갈등을 통하여 자녀의 문제행동에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지를 확인해보고자 하였다. 이러한 목적으로 K도의 5개의 시 지역에 소재한 8개 초등학교의 5, 6학년 24학급의 남녀 아동 399명과 그들의 부모를 대상으로 설문조사(399쌍, 798부)를 하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 확인된 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부의 자아분화 수준이 높을수록 회피대처, 부정적 감정 및 행동표출 대처 및 외부도움요청 대처를 적게 사용하는 것으로 나타났으며, 모의 자아분화 수준이 높을수록 회피대처, 부정적 감정 및 행동표출 대처를 적게 사용하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부와 모의 자아분화 수준은 직접적으로 자녀의 문제행동에 영향을 미치지 못하지만 감정적 대처행동을 통하여 부부갈등 심화시키고, 심화된 부부갈등이 자녀의 문제행동을 유발하는 방식으로 간접적으로 자녀의 문제행동에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 문제행동을 일으키는 아동들을 면담할 때에 부모의 자아분화수준까지를 고려하는 상담적 개입이 필요하며, 부모의 자아분화 수준이 낮은 경우에서는 부부갈등을 예방하기 위한 갈등대처전략에 관한 부모교육이 필요함을 시사한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examined the psychological process in which paternal and maternal parent’s self-differentiation levels impact upon marital conflict and the relationship of these issues to behavior problems in their children. The study also examined the mediating role of conflict coping behavior in the relationship between paternal and maternal parent’s self-differentiation levels and conflicts within their marriage. Data were collected from 399 male and female adolescents in 8 elementary schools (the fifth- and sixth-year students from 24 classes) and their parents from. 6 cites in K Province. The results indicated that the higher the level of parental parent’s self-differentiation, the less use is made of requests for external assistance. Higher levels of parental self-differentiation was also accompanied by a higher incidence of avoidance, as well as negative emotional expression/physical acting-out in the context of conflict within the couples. Moreover, the higher the level of maternal parent’s self-differentiation, the less use is made of avoidance and negative emotional expression/physical acting-out in the context of conflict within the couples. These results also indicated that the higher the level of maternal parent’s self-differentiation, the frequency of marital conflict is perceived to be lower. There was an indication that the paternal and maternal parent’s self-differentiation level did not have a direct influence on behavior problems in their children. However, it did have an influenced on their marital conflict, This was manifested through negative emotional expression or physical acting-out coping behavior in the context of marital conflict. These findings have a number of significant implications for the treatment of behavior problems in adolescence.
