결혼이주여성의 문화적응 스트레스의 영향요인 분석 -충청남도지역을 중심으로- = Psychosocial and cultural Predictors of Acculturative Stress among Marriage Immigrant Women in the Chungcheongnam-do area of Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the study is to empirically investigate the psychosocial and cultual predictors associated with acculturative stress among marriage immigrant women. Data were collected from a survey of 170 marriage immigrant women living in Korea. The results are twofold. First, among 7 sub-factors of acculturative stress, immigrant women were found to suffer from homesickness and culture shock the most. Second, education, religion, length of residence in Korea, bilingualism, biculturalism, spousal relationship satisfaction, in-law relationship satisfaction, depression, and coping strategy were found to be significant explanatory factors for acculturative stress. Especially, immigrants who were bilingual and bicultural were found be significant explanatory factors for acculturative stress, which supports the bi-dimensional acculturation theory. Furthermore, positive coping strategy showed significant buffering effects on acculturative stress. Various practical implications were discussed.
