다문화가정 자녀의 심리사회적 적응 = The Psycho-social Adaptation among Children of Multi-cultural Families

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 최근 한국사회에 증가하고 있는 다문화 가정과 관련하여 국제이주여성 자녀들의 심리사회적 적응을 살펴보고자 한다. 아직까지 다문화 가정에 대한 편견이 만연한 한국사회에서 학령기에 접어든 이들 자녀들의 심리사회적 적응 과정을 살펴봄으로써 이들의 적응을 위한 다양한 실천전략들을 제안하고자 한다. 이에 연구문제로 다문화가정 아동의 어려움이 스트레스를 매개로 심리사회적 적응에 영향을 미치는지, 스트레스가 심리사회적 적응에 미치는 부정적 영향을 사회적지지가 완충하는지 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 전라남․북도, 충청남도에 거주하는 결혼이주여성 자녀를 대상으로 일대일 면접을 통해 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 구조방정식 모형인 Amos 18.0을 이용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 다문화가정 아동이 경험하는 어려움인 불충분한 교육지원, 차별경험, 또래관계 문제가 스트레스를 매개로 심리사회적 적응에 부정적 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 스트레스가 심리사회적응에 미치는 부적영향에 대한 사회적 지지의 완충효과는 통계적으로 유의미하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막에 이러한 결과를 토대로 다문화가정 아동의 적응을 위한 실천적 함의를 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the psycho-social adaptation, and the buffering effect of social support among children of multi-cultural families. It is still hard for children of multi-cultural families to adapt to life in Korea. So the study proposes some practical interventions to help them. There are two main inquiries. First, do the troubles of children in multi-cultural families have an effect on their psycho-social adaptation and does stress mediate between theses troubles and psycho-social adaptation?, Second, is social support acting as a buffer between stress and psycho-social adaptation?. For this, I surveyed children of multi-cultural families that live in Jellanam-do, Jellabuk-do, and Chungcheongnam-do and used Amos 18.0 to analyze the data. The results were as follows: First, Children's troubles caused stress which led to a negative effect on their psycho-social adaptation. This effect was especially present among multi-cultural families with insufficient support services for education discrimination experience, and friendship problems. The analysis confirmed the mediating effect of stress. Second, the buffering effect of social support was not significant. Based on these results, we need another criterion for social supports for multi-cultural families regarding this result. Finally, I have proposed some practical interventions to improve the psycho-social adaptation of children in multi-cultural families.
