사립대학의 규모별 · 지역별 특성이 경영성과에 미치는 영향 = The Effects on the Management Performance by the Size and Region Factors of Private Universities

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 우리나라 사립대학의 2009년 결산자료와 기타자료를 바탕으로 대학의 재무적 · 비재무적 경영정보가 대학의 규모별 · 지역별 특성에 따라 어떤 관계를 가지는지에 대해 차이를 분석하였다. 분석결과 우리나라 사립대학은 첫째, 규모별 특성에 따라 대규모 대학은 중 · 소규모 대학보다 교육시설과 학생1인당장학금은 더 적게 지급하고 있으나 신입생충원율과 총정원유지율 및 교수당 연구실적은 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 지역특성에 따라 수도권 대학은 전임강의담당비율과 교육시설확보율 및 학생1인당장학금은 더 적게 지원하고 있으나, 취업률을 제외한 모든 산출성과는 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 대학의 규모와 소재지가 경쟁력에 많은 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 투입성과가 산출성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 분석에서 투입성과 중 전임1인당연구비가 높으면 대부분의 산출성과가 높아지지만 다른 투입항목은 그다지 영향을 미치지 않고 있어 대학의 성과는 대학의 규모별 특성이나 지역별 특성에 가장 크게 영향을 받는 다는 것을 알 수 있다. 본 연구가 최근 다각도로 추진되고 있는 대학의 구조조정에 대학의 특성을 고려한 정책을 결정하는 근거자료로 사용될 수 있기를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper studies the relations of the financial and non-financial management information with the size and region factors of Korean private universities using 2009 balancing accounts. The results are following:
First, the input performance by the size factor shows that the large universities are lower than the small ones. The output performance shows that the large ones outperform the small ones on the every index. This implies that the competitiveness of university is affected largely by the size of university. Second, the input performance by the region factor shows that the capital region universities are lower than the non-capital region ones. However, the output performance shows that the capital region ones outperform the non-capital region ones. This results show that the non-capital region universities have much more difficulties in recruiting freshmen and maintaining students in spite of the higher employment rate compared with the capital region universities. Finally, in analysing the effects of the input performances on the output performances, we find that the higher research funds per full-time professor the higher most of all output performances.
We hope that this study helps designing the policies of the structural adjustment and financial support for universities with respect to the size and location.
