여성노인의 사회적 관계망이 우울에 미치는 영향 연구-건강증진행위의 매개효과를 중심으로- = Effect of Social Networks on the Depression of Elderly Females in Korea: Analysis of the Intermediating Effect of Health Promoting Behavior

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 노인의 우울에 영향을 미치는 요인들 간의 인과관계 모형을 구축함에 있어 사회적 관계망의 직접효과와 건강증진행위의 매개효과를 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 한국노동연구원의 고령화연구패널조사(2006) 데이터를 활용하였으며, 이 중 60세 이상의 여성노인 3,088명을 케이스 선택(select cases)하여 분석에 포함하였다. 연구결과, 여성노인 중 우울증으로 판단되는 노인은 46.6%로 응답자의 절반 가까운 수준인 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 여성노인은 자녀의 경제적 지원, 자녀와의 접촉, 사회참여 등이 많을수록 우울수준이 낮아지는 것으로 나타났으며, 건강증진행위의 매개효과에 있어서는 사회참여와 우울간의 관계에서 매개효과가 있는 것으로 검증되었다. 본 연구는 이상의 결과에 기초하여 노인 우울예방 전략을 모색하기 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examines how social networks effect the depression of elderly females with mediating variable health promoting behavior. This study included a total of 3,088 females over 60 years of age from the first year's data from the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing. The results indicate that more than 46% showed symptoms of depression. In terms of social networks, depression decreases with the increase in the frequency of contract with members of social networks, the number of social gatherings in the social networks, and positive functions of social networks. Finally, health promoting behavior had an effect on depression and had partly mediating affects on the relation between the structural feature of social networks and depression. Therefore, it is suggested that the development of social supporting networks, which could induce health promoting behavior or physical activity, is done in order to decrease the depression found in elderly women.
