유아기 어머니의 양육스트레스 및 사회적 지지가양육효능감에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Parenting Stress and Social Supporton Parenting Self-Efficacy in Early Childhood Mothers

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to explore the difference between mother's parenting stress, social support, and parenting self-efficacy according to mother's general characteristics, and investigate related variable effects on mother's parenting self-efficacy.
Subjects of this study were 243 mothers of children aged 4 to 5 in the Ulsan area. Measures were mother's parenting stress('Parenting Stress Index/Short Form[PSI/SF]' developed by Abidin, 1990), social support, a questionnaire inventory(Park Ji-won, 2001), and parenting self-efficacy(An Ji-young, 2001).
The findings of this study were as follows.
First, significant difference in mother's parenting stress was indicated depending on the children's age, mother's employment status, and monthly income.
Second, significant difference in mother's social support was indicated depending on the mother's academic background, employment status, and monthly income.
Third, the result of examination on general characteristics of mother's parenting self-efficacy revealed that statistically significant differences based on children's age, and monthly income.
Fourth, with regard to relationship between mother's parenting self-efficacy and parenting stress, all sub-factors of parenting self-efficacy and parenting stress showed significant negative correlation. The relationship between the mother's social support and parenting self-efficacy showed significant positive correlation.
Fifth, According to the result of the regression analysis, the variables that affect the mother's parenting self-efficacy, were appraisal support, difficult child, parental distress influenced mother's general parenting self-efficacy, which explained 35% of variables.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 유아기 어머니의 양육스트레스, 사회적 지지가 양육효능감에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 U시의 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니를 대상으로 어머니의 일반적 특성, 양육효능감, 양육스트레스, 사회적 지지 검사를 실시하였고 최종 234명이 선정되었다. 연구결과 첫째, 양육스트레스는 어머니의 일반적 특성 중 자녀의 연령과 어머니의 취업 유무, 가계 소득에 따라 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 자녀의 연령이 어릴 경우, 어머니가 전업주부인 경우, 가계 소득이 중간 정도일 때 어머니는 양육스트레스를 더 많이 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사회적 지지는 어머니의 학력, 취업 유무, 가계 소득에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 어머니의 학력이 높을수록, 취업모일수록, 소득이 많을수록 어머니가 지각하는 사회적 지지는 더 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 양육효능감은 자녀의 연령과 가계 소득에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 자녀의 연령이 많을수록, 소득이 많을수록 어머니는 자신의 부모역할에 대한 자신감 즉 양육효능감이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 양육효능감은 양육스트레스의 모든 하위 영역에 걸쳐 부적 상관을 보인 반면 사회적 지지의 모든 하위 영역에 있어서는 정적 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 어머니의 양육효능감을 설명함에 있어 양육스트레스와 사회적 지지는 모두 유의미한 변인이었으며, 하위 영역에 따라서는 평가적 지지, 자녀의 까다로운 기질, 자녀양육 시 어머니 자신이 느끼는 고통 순으로 양육효능감을 설명하고 있었다. 이는 자신의 양육에 대한 평가적 지지가 높을수록, 어머니가 지각하는 자녀의 까다로운 기질이 덜할수록, 자녀양육에서의 고통이 적을수록 어머니의 양육효능감이 더 높음을 의미한다.
