부모사별 이후 발생하는 부정적 생활사건이 청소년의 우울,불안에 미치는 영향 -영적 안녕감의 조절효과- = The effect of negative Life events on depression and anxiety of parentally bereaved adolescents -moderating effect of spiritual well-being-

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examined the relationship between negative life events and depression-anxiety of parentally bereaved adolescents. Also the moderating effect of spiritual well-being on negative life events was examined. The sample included 192 bereaved adolescents ages 13 to 18 years(boys: 62.0%, girls: 38.0%/father death: 78.1%, mother death: 21.9%/anticipated death: 64.6%, sudden death: 35.4%). Community agencies represented the most common sources of referral. In order to examine main effect and moderating effect, multiple regression analysis were performed. The statistical package SPSS/PC V.17 was used. Major findings in this study are as follows: First, the study findings suggested that negative life events were positively related to depression and anxiety of bereaved adolescents. Second, regression analysis revealed that the negative life events were moderated by the spiritual well-being. This study is the first to examine the relations of negative life events, spiritual well-being and depression-anxiety of parentally bereaved adolescents of Korea. The finding indicated that the level of negative life events influence the level of depression-anxiety. And the level of spiritual well-being moderated the influence of negative life events on depression-anxiety. This result demonstrated that spiritual well-being played a crucial role in the depression-anxiety problems of the bereaved adolescents. These findings suggest that social work practice should consider spiritual well-being as an important aspect of adjustment after bereavement. Also various programs suitable for the parentally bereaved adolescents should be developed.
