한국 성인의 심리사회적 성숙성척도 개발 및 타당화 = Development and Validation of Psychosocial Maturity Inventory For Korean Adults

This paper is based upon our attempt to explore of the structure of psychosocial maturity among Korean adults and to further develop a psychosocial maturity inventory. Firstly, various concepts of psychosocial maturity were gathered from the responses of Korean adults participated in open questionnaire and subsequently exploratory factor analysis were performed. Secondly, psychosocial maturity inventory study and convergent/concurrent validity analysis were performed. Based upon 747 responses from the participants, it was concluded that the PsychoSocial Maturity Inventory (PSMI) can be related to 7 important factors (self-actualization and work commitment, positive sense and calmness, autonomy, social responsibility, aesthetic sensitivity, respect and consideration, and family love and long-lasting relationship) that were derived from the exploratory analysis. The study results strongly supported that the PSMI could be a reliable instrumental tool to measure Korean adults' psychosocial maturity. Also, the implication and limitations of the present study were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 우리나라 성인들이 인식하는 심리사회적 성숙성의 구성개념을 탐색하고 이를 측정하는 검사도구 개발을 목적으로 하였다. 지금까지 국내에서 사용되어진 심리사회적 성숙도 검사는 모두 개인주의로 특징지워지는 서구의 성숙인격이론에 근거하여 개발된 것으로 집단주의적 특성이 강한 우리나라 사람들이 인식하는 심리사회적 성숙성이 무엇인지 구인개념을 밝히고, 이를 토대로 검사를 제작, 타당화하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 25세이상 성인들을 대상으로 질문지를 통해 심리사회적 성숙에 관한 개념을 수합하였으며 문항구성 후 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 탐색적 요인분석 결과, 7개 요인이 추출되었고 요인당 5～7문항으로 구성된 42문항을 최종 확정지었다. 7개 요인은 자기실현 및 일에 대한 헌신, 긍정성과 평정심, 자율성, 사회적 책임감, 심미적 감수성, 존중과 배려, 가족애와 관계지속성으로 명명하였다. 이들 중 집단주의문화의 특성을 나타내는 요인은 ‘사회적 책임감’, ‘가족애와 관계지속성’, 그리고 ‘존중과 배려’임을 문화비교이론을 통해 고찰하였다. 척도의 타당화를 위하여 확인적 요인분석을 실시하고, 수렴, 공존타당도 분석을 하였다. 이러한 결과는 본 척도가 한국성인의 심리사회적 성숙성을 양적으로 측정하는 도구로 신뢰롭게 사용될 수 있음을 입증해 주었다. 끝으로 연구가 갖는 의미와 제한점 및 후속연구에 대한 제안 등을 논의하였다.
