음악요소 중심의 감상을 통한 이야기 꾸미기 활동이 유아의 음악적 능력과 이야기 구성능력에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Storytelling Activities through Musical Element Centered Appreciation on the Musical Abilities and Story Composition Abilities of Young Children

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study attempted to define an adequate method of creating music appreciation activities by reviewing the effects of storytelling activities using musical element-centered music appreciation, on the musical abilities and story composition abilities of young children. For the purpose of this study, 50 children at the age of 5 studying in a kindergarten in G City were selected, split and assigned to an experimental and a control group. In the experimental group, storytelling activities through appreciation of music focusing on musical elements were applied. Based on the collected data, the average and standard deviation of the musical abilities and story composition abilities of the children were calculated and the scores of two groups were compared by ANCOVA, setting the pre-test scores of the two groups as a covariance. From the analysis, it was found that storytelling activities using a music-element centered appreciation positively influenced the musical abilities and story composition abilities of the young children. Accordingly, based on the above results, the young children were made to search for musical elements through music appreciation, to identify the themes of different pieces of music by discussing various thoughts and feelings, and to compose a new story based on these discussions. It was suggested that such activities could be applied to the field of young children’s education as a practice of integrated operation of music and language, and as an integrated teaching method to further the development of the musical abilities and story construction abilities of young children.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 음악요소 중심의 감상을 통한 이야기 꾸미기 활동이 유아의 음악적 능력과 이야기 구성능력에 미치는 영향이 어떠한가를 살펴봄으로써 음악감상활동의 효과적인 접근방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 G시에 위치한 유치원 만 5세 유아 총 50명을 실험집단과 비교집단으로 분류하고, 이중 실험집단을 대상으로 음악요소 중심의 감상을 통한 이야기 꾸미기 활동을 적용하였다. 수집된 자료를 근거로 유아의 음악적 능력과 이야기 구성능력의 평균과 표준편차를 산출하였으며, 두 집단의 사전검사 점수를 공변인으로 한 공변량분석(ANCOVA)을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 음악요소 중심의 감상을 통한 이야기 꾸미기 활동이 유아의 음악적 능력과 이야기 구성능력에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 이상의 결과를 토대로 유아로 하여금 음악감상을 통하여 음악요소를 탐색하도록 하고, 이를 통하여 유발되는 다양한 생각과 느낌을 이야기 나눠봄으로써 음악의 주제를 파악한 후 이를 토대로 새로운 이야기를 구성해보도록 한 본 활동이 음악과 언어의 효율적인 통합운영의 실천방안으로 유아교육 현장에 적용될 수 있으며, 유아의 음악적 능력과 이야기 구성능력의 발달을 도모하는 통합적 지도방법으로 적용될 수 있음을 논의하였다.
