시민교육 패러다임 모색을 위한 프락시스 개념 탐구 = Exploring Concept of the Praxis for the Civic Education Paradigms

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The national curriculum suggests the democratic citizenship education as one of the educational aims. This education is oriented to social justice. However the current curriculum does not provide theoretical foundations to enrich the education toward citizens who strive the social justice. This paper derives some civic educational implication through Foucault`s concept of governmentality. Furthermore, this paper addresses the critical citizenship from a perspective of education for social justice and critical pedagogy. The term of ‘civic praxis’ is based on praxis which ties critical consciousness and action, critical pedagogy focusing on social justice. As a specific qualification of critical citizenship, civic praxis includes praxis as a citizen. The theory of civic praxis is reviewed with the concept of critical thinking, political consciousness, and political efficacy. The action of civic praxis is analyzed as visibility, intention, and agency. These attempts are expected to broaden the spectrum of discussions on the civil education.
