아동학대 생존자의 애착 재건에 대한 이야기치료적 접근 = Rebuilding Attachments of Child Abuse Survivors: A Narrative Approach

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 아동학대 생존자들이 다시 안정된 애착을 재구축할 수 있도록 돕는 과정에서 이야기치료적 접근이 효과적임을 논의한다. 어린 시절 학대의 결과로 일어난 애착손상은 성인이 된 후에도 타인을 신뢰할 수 없게 만들고, 결국 악순환적인 관계갈등 구조를 초래한다. 이야기치료적 접근을 통한 손상된 애착의 재구성은 억압된 과거의 상처 이야기가 누군가에 의해 안전하게 수용되는 경험에서부터 시작한다. 그리고 해체적 경청, 문제의 외재화, 독특한 예외경험의 발견을 거쳐, 결과적으로 새로운 자기정체성의 이야기와 새로운 관계 형성의 이야기가 재진술된다. 이야기치료적 과정에서 새로 저술되는 이야기는 개인적으로는 “무력한 피해자”에서 “삶의 주인공”으로서의 자아정체성 회복의 이야기이고, 관계적으로는 “밀쳐냄”에서 “다가감”으로의 신뢰회복의 이야기이다. 이에 대한 사례로서 어린 시절 학대를 당했던 한 중년여성의 애착재건 과정을 보여주는 삶의 내러티브를 소개하고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study suggests that the narrative approach is very effective in helping the childhood abuse survivors rebuild a stable attachment. Attachment damage due to childhood abuse causes distrust of others in adulthood and eventually leads to a vicious cycle of relational conflicts. A narrative approach for the reconstruction of damaged attachment begins with the storytelling of repressed past experience and with being witnessed and accepted safely by the therapist. And as a result, the reauthoring of the narratives of new self–identity and new relationship becomes possible with the therapeutic intervention of deconstructive listening, the externalization of the problem and the discovery of unique and exceptional outcomes. The new narratives include both the story of the restored self–identity as “the real life hero” instead of “the helpless victim” and the story of the restoration of relationship as “courage toward intimacy” instead of “withdrawal and rejection.” As a case example, the author introduces the narrative of a middle–aged woman successfully passing through the process of rebuilding attachment with her husband.
