대학생의 심리적 독립과 진로결정자율성이 진로탐색행동에 미치는 영향 = The Relationship of Psychological Separation and Career Decision-Making Autonomy to University Students' Career Exploration Behavior

The purpose of this study was to investigate the gender difference of career exploration behavior and to study the relationship of psychological separation and career decision-making autonomy to career exploration behavior of university students. 398 University students(188 male and 210 female students) responded to the questionnaire for this study. To analyze the data, t-test and multiple regression analysis were performed.
The results of this study are as follows.
First, no significant gender difference was found in the total score of career exploration behavior. However, female students showed significantly higher scores in self-exploration behavior, a sub-scale of career exploration behavior, than male students. Second, psychological separation and career decision-making autonomy had a significantly positive influence on career exploration behavior of university students. Particularly, intrinsic motivation (a subscale of career decision-making autonomy) turned out to be a significant variable to predict the university students' career exploration behavior. Third, there was a differential influence of psychological separation for and female students predicting the self-exploration behavior. Psychological separation did not significantly influence on male students' self-exploration behavior, however, it significantly influenced on female students. Discussions and suggestions are provided regarding the results of this study.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

대학생 시기는 실제적인 진로를 결정해야 하는 시기로서 이 시기의 진로탐색행동은 다른 어느 때보다 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 청소년 후기인 대학생을 대상으로 하여 성별에 따라 진로탐색행동에 차이가 있는지 알아보고, 부모로부터의 심리적 독립과 진로결정자율성이 진로탐색행동에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 확인하고자 하였다. 부산시에 소재한 3개 4년제 대학교 학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여, 총 398명의 응답자료를 분석에 사용하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 진로탐색행동의 총점에서는 성별에 따른 유의미한 차이가 없었으나 하위변인인 자기탐색행동에서는 여학생이 남학생보다 유의미하게 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 심리적 독립과 진로결정자율성은 진로탐색행동에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤으며, 각 변인들 중에서 예측력이 가장 높은 변인은 진로결정자율성의 하위변인인 내적동기로 나타났다. 셋째, 진로탐색행동의 하위변인인 자기탐색행동의 경우 성별에 따른 차이가 있었으므로 남녀를 분리하여 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 남학생 집단에서는 내적 동기만이 자기탐색행동을 유의미하게 예측하는 반면, 여학생 집단의 경우, 내적 동기뿐 아니라 어머니, 아버지와의 갈등으로부터의 독립 또한 유의미한 영향을 미치는 변인으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 대학생이 진로를 탐색하는 데는 대체로 부모변인과 같은 외부요인 보다는 스스로의 결정이 더 중요하지만, 부모의 영향 또한 성별에 따라 차별적인 의미가 있음을 보여준다. 이러한 연구결과에 따른 논의 및 시사점이 제공되어 있다.
