사회비교경향성과 주관적 안녕감 및 우울의 관계 : 자기통제의 조절효과 = The relationship among social comparison orientation, subjective wellbeing and depression : Moderating effects of self control

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Many peoples are conscious of others and compares themselves with others. This study investigates whether social comparison orientation would be effect on subjective wellbeing and depression of college students. Further, the study explores that self-control could be a moderate of self control on subjective wellbeing and depression. 415 students participated in this study. Social comparison orientation, self control, subjective wellbeing and depression(CES-D) scale were measured. As a result, we found that the higher the social comparison orientation, less subjective wellbeing and more depressed. And it was found that self control moderated in the relation. Implications and limitations of the present research were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 대학생을 대상으로 사회비교경향성이 정신건강(주관적 안녕감, 우울)에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다. 또한 사회비교경향성이 정신건강에 미치는 영향에 대해 자기통제가 조절 변인 역할을 하는지 확인하고자 하였다. 연구를 위해 대학생 439명에게 사회비교경향성, 자기통제, 주관적 안녕감 및 우울에 관한 설문을 실시하였다. 이후 전체 변인들 간의 상관관계와 자기통제의 조절효과를 검증하기 위해 위계적 회귀분석을 하였다. 연구 결과, 사회비교경향성이 높을수록 주관적 안녕감이 낮고 우울감이 높았다. 그리고 사회비교경향성은 주관적 안녕감 및 우울에 미치는 영향에 대해 자기통제가 조절변인으로 작용하였다. 즉, 자기통제가 낮은 사람은 사회비교를 많이 할 때 주관적 안녕감이 낮고 우울이 높았지만, 자기통제가 높은 사람은 사회비교를 하더라도 주관적 안녕감이 높고 우울이 낮지 않았다. 본 연구는 사회비교경향성이 정신건강에 미치는 영향과 자기통제의 보호요인을 확인하며, 사회비교를 방지하고, 자기통제감을 증진시킬 수 있는 훈련 및 프로그램의 필요성을 시사한다.
