비구조적 놀잇감을 활용한 구성놀이가 유아의 놀이성과 창의성에 미치는 영향 = The effects of constructive play using unstructured play materials on young children`s playfulness and creativity

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to examine how constructive play using unstructured play materials influences on young children`s playfulness and creativity. The subjects in this study were 40 four-year-old children in P kindergartens located in Ansan city, Gyeonggi Province. Among them, 20 young children were assigned in an experimental group, and the rest 20 young children were assigned in a control group. The experimental group carried out the constructive play using unstructured play materials 20 times for 10 weeks, while the comparative group played by using the unstructured play materials. The collected data were analyzed by ANCOVA using SPSS 21.0 program. The study findings are as the followings. First, there were statistically significant differences between the experimental group and comparative group in young children`s playfulness including physical spontaneity, social spontaneity, cognitive spontaneity, expression of joy, and sense of humor. The young children in the experimental group showed more playfulness than those of the comparative group. Second, the children in the experimental group showed statistically significant differences in creativity including fluency, flexibility, originality, and imagination, compared with those in the comparative group. Therefore, the results showed that the constructive play using unstructured play materials affects the improvement of children`s creativity. The study implies that it is necessary to provide more diverse unstructured play materials in order to enhance young children`s playfulness and creativity.
