상실 경험의 의미 재구성과 심리적 적응의 관계 = The Relationship between Meaning Reconstruction in response to Loss Experience and Psychological Adjustment

This study examines meaning reconstruction in response to loss experience what effects it had on psychological adjustment. In the first study, Grief and Meaning Reconstruction Inventory(GMRI) was interpreted and the internal consistency and convergence and discrimination validity of GMRI were examined. In the following study, one-way ANOVA and t-test were applied to identify the existence of difference between meaning reconstruction and psychological adjustment depending on sex, religion, type of loss experience and PTSD risk group division, and Pearson correlation was done for the relation between the factors. Also, what sub-factor influenced over psychological adjustment was examined with multiple regression, date from a sample of 323 college students at Seoul and regional. The results showed that there was a significant difference in psychological adjustment level by sex and the existence of religion. Also, the trouble in psychological adjustment was severer in the case of relationship loss and other psychological and physical loss than of death related loss. When subjects were divided to PTSD and non-PTSD risk group, the former showed the trouble in psychological adjustment. Meaning reconstruction and psychological adjustment had a significant correlation, and it was shown that meaning reconstruction had significant influences over psychological adjustment. Implication and limitation of the current study are discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 상실 경험에 대한 의미 재구성이 이후 심리적 적응에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다. 먼저 예비 연구를 통해 애도에 대한 의미 재구성 척도(GMRI: Grief and Meaning Reconstruction Inventory)를 번안하고 신뢰도와 수렴 및 변별 타당도를 살펴보았다. 본 연구에서는 상실을 경험한 서울 및 지방 소재 대학생 323명을 대상으로 성별과 종교 유무, 상실경험 유형 및 PTSD 위험군 분류에 따라 의미 재구성과 심리적 적응에 차이가 있는지 알아보기 위해 일원분산분석과 t 검증을 실시하였고, 변인들간의 관련성을 살펴보기 위해 피어슨 상관분석을 실시하였다. 또한 의미 재구성 중 어떤 하위 요인이 심리적 적응에 영향을 미치는지 살펴보기 위해 중다회귀분석을 사용하였다. 분석 결과 상실 경험에 따른 심리적 적응 수준에 유의미한 성차가 나타났으며, 종교의 유무에 따라 적응수준에 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 또한 죽음 관련 상실보다 관계 상실이나 기타 심리적 물리적 상실을 경험했을 경우에 더 심리적 적응에 어려움을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 연구대상자들을 PTSD 위험군과 비위험군으로 분류하였을 때 PTSD 위험군이 비위험군에 비해 적응에 어려움을 보였다. 그리고 의미 재구성과 심리적 적응간에 상관 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났으며 의미 재구성은 심리적 적응에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 상담실제에 대한 시사점과 후속연구에 대한 제언을 논하였다.
