문학적 접근을 통한 죽음개념 교육이유아의 죽음에 대한 인식 및 죽음불안에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Education about Death Concepts through the Literature Approach on Children's Recognitionof Death and Fear of Death

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to find out whether there are any differences in young children's recognition of death and fear of death after participating education about death concepts through literature. The subjects of this study were 24 five-year-olds(8 in the experimental group, 8 in the comparative group a, and 8 in the comparative group b) who were enrolled in S kindergarten located in Gwangju. Data were analyzed for the mean, standard deviation, and One-Way ANOVA on the pre-score and post-score to find out significant differences in recognition of death and fear of death. The findings of the study are as follows: education about death concepts through the literature approach affected young children's recognition of death and fear of death. Young children's recognition of death and fear of death in the experimental group were better than the comparative group a and the comparative group b. And young children's recognition of death and fear of death in the comparative group a were better than that of the comparative group b.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 죽음을 소재로 다룬 죽음관련 그림 동화를 활용한 문학적 접근의 죽음개념 교육이 유아의 죽음에 대한 인식과 죽음불안에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 그 목적을 두었다. 연구대상은 G시에 소재한 S유치원 만 5세 유아 24명(실험집단 8명, 비교집단a 8명, 비교집단b 8명)이었다. 본 연구의 결과를 검증하기 위하여 실험집단에게는 죽음관련 동화를 활용한 문학적 접근의 죽음개념 교육활동을, 비교집단a에게는 죽음관련 동화듣기 활동을, 비교집단b에게는 동일한 조건으로 유치원 교육과정에 따른 동화듣기 활동을 16주간 전개하였다. 연구결과 유아의 죽음에 대한 인식과 죽음불안은 죽음관련 동화를 통한 문학적 접근의 죽음개념 교육활동에 따라 세 집단간에 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 죽음관련 동화를 통한 문학적 접근의 죽음개념교육이 유아의 죽음에 대한 바람직한 인식과 죽음불안 감소에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤음을 알 수 있다. 이러한 연구결과는 유아기의 죽음개념 교육의 바람직한 접근 방향을 모색하는데 가치 있는 자료가 될 것이다.
