대학생의 자기애와 우울의 관계: 자기제시 동기와 인지적 정서조절전략의 중다매개효과 = Multiple Mediated Effects of Self-Presentational Motivation and Cognitive Emotion Regulation Strategies in the Relation Between Narcissism and Depression

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 대학생의 자기애와 우울 간 관계에서 자기제시 동기와 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략의 중다매개효과를 검증하는데 있다. 이를 위하여, 대학생 389명을 대상으로 내현적 자기애 척도, 외현적 자기애 척도, 자기제시 동기 척도, 인지적 정서조절전략 질문지, 우울 척도를 사용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료를 기초로 구조방정식모형의 적합도를 검증하고 부트스트래핑을 적용하여 중다매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구 결과, 내현적 자기애든 외현적 자기애든 자기애와 우울의 관계에서 인지적 정서조절전략의 매개효과가 유의하였고, 자기제시동기와 인지적 정서조절전략의 중다매개효과가 유의하였다. 그러나 자기제시 동기에 서 우울에 이르는 경로가 유의하지 않아 자기제시 동기는 매개역할을 하지 못하였다. 이는 자기애 성향자들의 자기제시 동기가 단독으로 우울에 영향을 미치지 못하며, 인지적 정서조절전략의 사용을 통해서 우울에 영향을 미친다는 것을 의미한다. 본 연구의 결과는 우울을 호소하는 자기애 성향의 대학생 내담자들이 우울을 극복하도록 돕는 상담의 과정에서 자기제시 동기와 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략을 감소시키는 다각적인 개입을 실시해야 할 필요성을 시사한다. 마지막으로, 연구의 제한점과 후속연구를 위한 제언을 논하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to test the multiple mediated effects of self-presentational motivation and maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies in the relation between narcissism and depression. A total of 389 college students completed the Covert Narcissism Scale (CNS), the Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI), the Self-Presentational Motivation Scale (SPMS), the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ), and the Center for Epidemiological Studies-Depression Scale (CES-D). Correlational analyses and structural equation modeling were conducted. Results revealed that the mediated effect of maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies and the multiple mediated effects of self-presentational motivation and maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies were significant in the relation between overt/covert narcissism and depression. These findings suggest the necessity of addressing the issues of narcissism, self-presentational motivation, and maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation while counseling depressed college students.
