외국인 유학생의 한국어교육 박사 학위 논문 서론 텍스트 구조 분석

이 연구는 외국인 유학생이 작성한 한국어교육 박사 학위 논문 서론 텍스트의 구조적 특징을 분석하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 논문은 장르적인 특징이 매우 뚜렷하기에 학문 목적의 한국어 학습자들이 한국에서 성공적으로 학업을 마치기 위해서는 한국어 학위 논문의 장르적 특징을 이해하고 이를 반영하여 논문을 작성하는 능력을 갖추어야 한다. 본고는 이와 같은 인식을 바탕으로 최근 발표된 한국어교육 박사 학위 논문 중 외국인이 작성한 논문 서론의 내용을 중심으로 텍스트 구조를 분석하였다. 그 결과 외국인 유학생들은 박사 학위 논문 서론에서 연구의 목적을 처음에 제시하는 경우가 많았다. 또한 처음부터 바로 연구의 필요성을 제기하기보다 연구 주제와 관련한 배경을 먼저 소개하고 해당 분야의 선행 연구를 살피거나 교육 현장의 필요를 부각하면서 연구 주제의 필요성을 나타내고 있었다. 한편 문헌 연구보다 실험 연구 등의 논문이 많았음에도 불구하고 연구 방법이나 가설을 설명하는 경우는 많이 나타나지 않았다. 외국인 유학생이 작성한 학위 논문 서론의 텍스트 구조에 대한 분석 결과를 통해서 앞으로 학문 목적 한국어 쓰기 교육에서 보다 체계적인 학위 논문 작성 교육 내용을 마련할 수 있을 것이다. This research focusses on analyzing dissertations, especially the characteristics of text structure in the introduction section, written by foreign graduate students for a doctoral degree in Korean Education. Currently in the Korean educational environment, several students are mastering Korean as part of their academic studies. They must learn to write dissertations, as it is a required genre of academic writing. As a form of academic writing, dissertations are a tool to communicate with members of the academic discourse community and, as a result, include typical genre characteristics that are agreed upon in the community. Therefore, students who are learning Korean for academic studies are required to understand the characteristics of dissertation writing as a genre, and demonstrate the ability to write dissertations that reflect this understanding. Hence, we analyzed the introductions of research articles that were recently written by foreign doctoral students. We conducted a genre analysis on the structure of the introduction sections with an emphasis on content that produced a different result from previous researches. Systematic, genre-based instructions on writing the introduction section in Korean research articles are required, emphasizing the differences and gaps identified from previous researches on the characteristics of introductions in Korean doctoral dissertations as a genre.
