한국교회들 가운데도 복음에 대한 열정과 제자도, 교회개척과 같은 이미징 처치의 가치를 추구하는 교회들은 많이 있다. 그러나 한국의 포스트모던 문화에 속한 불신자들을 목표로 세워진 교회들은 거의 없다. 그들 대부분이 큰 교회로 성장하는 것을 지향한다는 점에서 신학적 차이도 크다. 서구의 이머징 처치들은 교회의 조직과 규모 면에서 볼 때 아직 약하지만 나름대로 독자적인 가치관과 삶의 방식을 구축하고 있다. 자생력이 강하기 때문에 단기간에 나타났다가 사라지는 유행적 풍조와는 분명히 다르다고 본다. 앞으로 이 교회들은 기독교 역사에 상당한 영향력을 미칠 것이다. 실제로, 자생적이고도 자연스럽게 생겨나고 있는 이 교회들의 출현 현상은 서구사회에서 점점 그 힘이 약화되고 있는 기독교계에 새로운 바람을 일으킬 수 있는 가능성으로 인식되고 있다. 한국에도 한국식 포스트모던 문화가 등장하고 있다 따라서 앞으로 한국에도 한국식 이머징 처치 바람이 불 것이다. 이미 사회과학 분야에서는 한국사회의 포스트모던 현상과 그것이 각계에 미치는 영향에 관해서 활발한 연구와 토론을 진행하고 있다. 기독교계도 포스트모던 문화의 영향을 받게 될 것이다. 아니, 어쩌면 이미 영향을 받고 있는지도 모른다. 그것은 우리에게 어떤 도전으로 다가오고 있는가? 그 도전에 직면하여 우리의 교회는 어느 방향으로 나아가야 하는가? 이것이 우리에게 주어진 새로운 과제다. The importance which occupy the worship of the church at the religious life of the believers is the bigger than that we usually think about that. Some Christian consider that Sunday worship service is everything. So, the renewal of the worship is very important because it is not only to establish the original function of the church, but also to built the religious life of many Christian rightly. Especially, our church are afraid of how to response about the social environment which is suddenly changing, such as the post-modernism, and the turning point into the new century. How are the church to worship God in the post-modernism? Although some people who are located in the position of the worship say that it is more important to define what the worship is than how we are to worship God, what the church provide how to worship service to the believers is. In USA, there are many churches, such as Saddleback, Willow Creek, Mosaic, North Point, Fellowship, Ginghamsburg, and East Side Community church. What is the common feature of the worship services among those churches? Some people say that those worship things are fully wrong, but we should think about such arguments whether it is right or not. In South Korea, there appears the korean post-modernism so that there will also emerge the trend of the emerging church in Korea.
