        The purpose of this study is to examine the actual condition of middle school students' views of moral or ethical values and to investigate the effects of process environment of home on the formation of their views of values. In order to achieve the purposes mentioned above, researcher drew 722 students from two urban middle schools (One for boys, the other for girls) and two rural middle schools (One for boys, the other for girls) as samples using the random sampling method, and then examined their home environment inventory and their view of values. After that, using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) program researcher dealt with the results in the way of electronic data processing and discussed them. The results of the study are as follows: I. The Actual Condition of a View of Values. a. In the dimension of accomplishment - unaccomplishment, the higher group of accomplishment showed positive response while the lower group of it showed negative response. And the difference between two groups appeared most greatly in a standard of activity; then in a view of life, foreign ethics, and traditional ethics in the order named. b. In the dimension of openness - closing, in the case of urban students the difference between an average mark of the group of openness, the higher group, and that of the group of closing, the lower group, appeared most greatly in the field of a view of life. c. In the dimension of affection - antipathy, in the case of urban students the higher group of affection showed the most positive response in the field of a view of life and foreign ethics. d. In the dimension of authonomy - heteronomy, in the case of urban students the higher group showed the most positive response in the field of foreign ethics, but in the case of rural students the higher group showed the most positive response in the field of traditional ethics. II. The Effect of Process Environmental Variables on the Formation of a View of Values. a. In the formation of a view of life, the most crucial one among process environmental variables was the tendency of openness - closing; b. the tendency of authonomy - heteronomy in the field of traditional ethics; c. the tendency of affection - antipathy in the field of standard of activity; d. and the tencency of autonomy - heteronomy in the field of foreign ethics.
