        Online Hop Timing Detection and Frequency Estimation of Multiple FH Signals

        This paper addresses the problem of online hop timing detection and frequency estimation of multiple frequencyhopping (FH) signals with antenna arrays. The problem is deemed as a dynamic one, as no information about the hop timing, pattern, or rate is known in advance, and the hop rate may change during the observation time. The technique of particle filtering is introduced to solve this dynamic problem, and real-time frequency and direction of arrival estimates of the FH signals can be obtained directly, while the hop timing is detected online according to the temporal autoregressive moving average process. The problem of network sorting is also addressed in this paper. Numerical examples are carried out to show the performance of the proposed method.

        Chinoketides A and B, Two New Antimicrobial Polyketides from the Endophytes of Distylium chinense with the "Black-Box" Co-culture Method

        Two new polyketides, chinoketides A and B (1 - 2) with a known compound xylarphthalide A (3), were isolated from the solid medium of the endophytes from the leaves of the relic plant Distylium chinense with the "black-box" co-culture method, and the structures of two new compounds were elucidated by NMR, MS and CD spectra. And the absolute configurations of chinoketides A (1) and B (2) were determined as 2R,3R,8S and 5R,6S by calculating their ECD spectra to compare with the experimental CD spectra. Finally, the antimicrobial activities were evaluated to Erwinia carotovora sub sp. Carotovora (Jones) Bersey et al, and the results showed that compounds 1 - 3 displayed the antimicrobial activities with MIC value at 20.5, 30.4 and 10.2 mg/mL.

      • Genetic Variations in TERT-CLPTM1L Genes and Risk of Lung Cancer in a Chinese Population

        Background: This study was conducted to investigate the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) and cleft lip and palate transmembrane1-like (CLPTM1L) and lung cancer risk in a Chinese population. Methods: We performed a hospital-based case-control study, including 980 lung cancer cases and 1000 cancer-free controls matched for age and sex. Each case and control was interviewed to collect information by well-trained interviewers. A total of 5 ml of venous blood was collected for genotype testing of TERT rs2736098 and CLPTM1L rs401681 using TaqMan methodology. Results: The results revealed that the variant homozygote TERT rs2736098TT was associated with an increased risk of lung cancer (OR=2.017, 95%CI=1.518-2.681), especially lung adenocarcinoma (OR=2.117, 95%CI=1.557-3.043) and small cell carcinoma (OR=1.979, 95%CI: 1.174-3.334), compared with the TERT rs2736098CC genotype. Similar results were observed in non-smokers. Conclusion: The TERT rs2736098 polymorphism might affect the susceptibility to lung cancer in Chinese populations. The associations need to be verified in larger and different populations.

        Output Regulation for a Class of Uncertain Nonlinear Time-delay Systems by Output Feedback Control

        This paper is concerned with the output regulation problem for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems with time-delay and immeasurable states. The nonlinear system is driven by an unknown linear system. By virtue of solutions of regulator equation and canonical internal model, the output regulation problem is converted to a stabilization problem of the augmented system. A novel fuzzy state observer independent of time-delay is proposed and the fuzzy adaptive output feedback controller and adaptive law are constructed such that all the solutions of the closed-loop system are ultimately uniformly bounded, and the tracking error e can asymptotically converge to a small neighborhood of the origin. Moreover the Lyapunov-krasovskii functional is chosen such that the stability analysis of the system can be performed. Finally a simulation example is provided to prove the efficiency of the proposed method.

      • TP63 Gene Polymorphisms, Cooking Oil Fume Exposure and Risk of Lung Adenocarcinoma in Chinese Non-smoking Females

        Background: Genetic polymorphisms of TP63 have been suggested to influence susceptibility to lung adenocarcinoma development in East Asian populations. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between common polymorphisms in the TP63 gene and the risk of lung adenocarcinoma, as well as interactions of the polymorphisms with environmental risk factors in Chinese non-smoking females. Methods: A case-control study of 260 cases and 318 controls was conducted. Data concerning demographic and risk factors were obtained for each subject. The genetic polymorphisms were determined by Taqman real-time PCR and statistical analyses were performed using SPSS software. Results: For 10937405, carriers of the CT genotype or at least one T allele (CT/TT) had lower risks of lung adenocarcinoma compared with the homozygous wild CC genotype in Chinese nonsmoking females (adjusted ORs were 0.68 and 0.69, 95%CIs were 0.48-0.97 and 0.50-0.97, P values were 0.033 and 0.030, respectively). Allele comparison showed that the T allele of rs10937405 was associated with a decreased risk of lung adenocarcinoma with an OR of 0.78 (95%CI=0.60-1.01, P=0.059). Our results showed that exposure to cooking oil fumes was associated with increased risk of lung adenocarcinoma in Chinese nonsmoking females (adjusted OR=1.58, 95%CI=1.11-2.25, P=0.011). However, we did not observe a significant interaction of cooking oil fumes and TP63 polymorphisms. Conclusion: TP63 polymorphism might be a genetic susceptibility factor for lung adenocarcinoma in Chinese non-smoking females, but no significant interaction was found with cooking oil fume exposure.

      • Elevated Expression of Nuclear Protein Kinase CK2α as a Poor Prognosis Indicator in Lymph Node Cancerous Metastases of Human Thyroid Cancers

        Aim: To investigate the expression of protein kinase $CK2{\alpha}$ ($CK2{\alpha}$) in human thyroid disease and its relationship with thyroid cancer metastasis. Materials and Methods: Using immunohistochemistry we measured the expression of $CK2{\alpha}$ in 76 benign and malignant human thyroid cancer tissues, including 10 pairs of papillary carcinoma tissues with or without lymph node cancerous metastasis and similarly 10 pairs of lymph nodes. Results: The expression of $CK2{\alpha}$ was found to be higher in thyroid carcinoma cases (papillary carcinoma, follicular carcinoma, anaplastic carcinoma and medullary carcinoma) than in ones such as chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, nodular goiter and adenoma. These findings were also confirmed by RT-PCR and Western blotting. More strikingly, elevated expression of $CK2{\alpha}$ in thyroid papillary carcinoma tissues was not only significantly associated with lymph node cancerous metastasis and clinical stage of thyroid cancers; but also correlated with epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and high tenascin C (TNC) expression. In addition, EMT and high TNC expression in thyroid carcinoma tissues was significantly associated with lymph node cancerous metastasis. Conclusions: Elevated expression of nuclear $CK2{\alpha}$ is a poor prognosis indicator in lymph node cancerous metastasis of human thyroid cancers.

        Diaporthe taoicola and D. siamensis, Two New Records on Citrus sinensis in China

        Two Diaporthe species isolated from fruit of Citrus sinensis in China were characterized based on morphology and multilocus phylogeny of ITS, tef1, and tub2 gene sequences. The phylogeny indicated that the two species match Diaporthe taoicola and D. siamensis. A critical examination of phenotypic characteristics confirmed the phylogenetic results. Diaporthe taoicola was morphologically characterized by producing Alpha conidia with tapering toward both ends. Meanwhile, D. siamensis produced cylindrical or ellipsoidal Alpha conidia with two oil drops. Pathogenicity tests revealed that both species were pathogenic to fruit of C. sinensis. To our knowledge, the two species were firstly reported on Citrus sinensis in China.

        Octadecyl-Modified Graphene as an Adsorbent for Hollow Fiber Liquid Phase Microextraction of Chlorophenols from Honey

        Octadecyl-modified graphene (graphene-C18) was fabricated and used as adsorbent in hollow fiber liquid phase microextraction (HF-LPME) for the first time. The extraction performance of graphene-C18 reinforced HF-LPME was evaluated using chlorophenols as model analytes. The factors affecting the extraction efficiency, such as extraction time, pH of the sample solution, agitation rate, the concentration of graphene-C18 and salt addition were optimized. After the graphene-C18 reinforced HF-LPME of the chlorophenols from honey sample, the analytes were separated and determined by high-performance liquid chromatography. The linearity was observed in the range of 5.0-200.0 ng g−1 for 2-chlorophenol and 3-chlorophenol, and 2.0-200.0 ng g−1 for 2,3-dichlorophenol and 3,4-dichlorophenol, respectively. The limits of detection (S/N = 3) of the method were lower than 1.5 ng g−1. The recoveries of the method were between 88% and 108%. The method is simple, sensitive and has been resoundingly applied to analysis of chlorophenols in honey samples.

        GVC의 전방 및 후방 참여가 ASEAN에서 중국의 OFDI에 미치는 영향

        본 논문은 주로 ASEAN 글로벌 가치 사슬(GVC, global value chains)에 대한 전방 참여와 후방 참여가 중국의 아세안 투자에 미치는 영향을 연구한다. 연구 결과에 따르면 ASEAN 국가들의 GVC 전방 참여는 중국의 아세안 10개국 투자에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 반면 후방 참여는 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 아세안의 기술 발전, 고학력 노동력의 확대, 소비자 시장 소비 잠재력의 증가, 인프라 개선 및 시장 개방도는 중국의 아세안 투자를 유치하고 확대할 것이다. 이는 중국이 ASEAN 제조에 대한 투자 외에도 ASEAN 국가의 교육, 기술 연구 및 개발, 기반 시설 건설 및 3차 산업에 대한 투자를 촉진할 수 있음을 의미한다. 아세안 국가의 인건비는 아세안에 대한 중국의 투자와 긍정적인 상관관계가 있는 반면 천연자원은 부정적인 상관관계가 있다. 중국 기업은 아세안 국가의 풍부한 노동력을 최대한 활용하여 생산 비용을 절감하고 현지 소비 습관 및 선호도에 따라 시장을 적절하게 개발하여 가계 소비를 촉진하고 기업 이윤을 높일 것을 권장한다. 아세안 국가는 개방을 강화하고 인프라 건설을 개선하며 첨단 기술 인재 양성을 중시하고 중국을 포함한 더 많은 외국인 투자를 유치해야 한다. This paper mainly studies the impact of forward and backward participation in ASEAN global value chains on China's investment in ASEAN. The results show that forward participation in global value chains is negatively correlated with China's investment in ASEAN, while backward participation is positively correlated. The technological advancement of ASEAN, the expansion of the number of highly educated labor force, the increase of consumer market consumption potential, the improvement of infrastructure, and the degree of openness of the market will attract and expand China's investment in ASEAN. This means that in addition to investment in ASEAN manufacturing, China can also promote investment in education, technology research and development, infrastructure construction, and tertiary industries in ASEAN countries. The labor cost of ASEAN countries is positively correlated with China's investment in ASEAN, while natural resources are negatively correlated. It is recommended that Chinese companies make full use of the abundant labor resources of ASEAN countries, reduce production costs, and appropriately develop markets according to local consumption habits as well as preferences, stimulate household consumption, and increase corporate profits. ASEAN countries need to strengthen opening up, improve infrastructure construction, attach importance to the training of high-tech talents, and attract more foreign investment, including China.
