        작품 해석과 교수법을 위한 음악적 토픽

        본 연구는 음악내적인 부분과 기술적 부분에만 치중하기 쉬운 음악의 해석과 교수법에 보다 표현적인 내용들을 풍부하게 하고자 시도되었다. 이를 위해 최근 들어 음악 작품의 표현적 해석을 위한 도구로서의 음악적 토픽 이론을 탐구하고자 한다. 래트너의 80년대 저작에서부터 나타나기 시작하여 그 후배들에 의해 더욱 발전된 토픽들은 음악 외적 의미 탐구를 위한 주된 원천으로 간주되었다. 그들에 의해 18세기-19세기의 음악 토픽들이 탐색되었고 최근의 새로운 경향인 내러티브적 분석에 있어 상징으로서의 의미를 제공해주고 있다. 토픽은 음악 역사 동안 관습적으로 통용되어온 음악 어휘라 할 수 있으므로 그에 대한 지식은 오늘날 음악을 공부하는 이들에게 유용할 수 있다. 이러한 접근의 결과를 통해 음악 렛슨에 보다 생생한 상상의 공간을 제시함으로써 음악에 대해 숙고하는 기회를 제공할 수 있으리라 본다. The purpose of this study is to provide the sources of the expressive way of interpretation and pedadogy. For this goal, the theory of musical topic is explored. Musical topic has emerged in recent decades as a powerful tool for the analysis of musical expression within tonal repertories. Largely originating in Leonard Ratner’s treatise Classic Music from 1980, it has since been considerably developed and extended by his successors. They find it a major resource for the investigation of extra-musical referentiality and meaning. Ratner provided a succinct lexicon of common eighteenth-century topics, and while various authors have added nineteenth century topics to his list. The use of topical analysis can help us discern much in a musical work with live imagination and provides also a kind of ‘plaisir’ of explore musical conventions in music history. As a result of this research, It is argued that topics can be used as a medium for instructing the students who have limited imaginations within musical space.

        스마트홈 잠재 사용자의 기대 목표과 우려에 관한 연구

        스마트홈 기술은 빠르게 성장하고 있으나, 일반 사용자에게는 아직 널리 보급되지 않은 얼리어답터 단계에 머물러 있다. 스마트홈 보급 확대를 위해서는 잠재 사용자의 사용 동기와 우려에 대한 이해가 필요하나, 기존의 많은 연구들은 주로 스마트홈의 실제 사용자를 대상으로 진행되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 일반 사용자를 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하여 스마트홈을 통해 이루길 기대하는 목표와 구체적인 기능, 이에 따른 우려 사항을 파악하고자 하였다. 총 237건의 응답을 주제 분석 방법을 통해 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 연구 참여자들은 스마트홈을 통해 ‘편리함’, ‘자기 관리’, ‘절약’, ‘안전/보안’, ‘즐거움’ 등의 목표를 이루길 기대하였다. 스마트홈 사용에 대한 우려는 188건을 수집하였으며, 주제는 ‘오작동’, ‘보안/안전 위험’, ‘사용자 부정적 행동 변화’, ‘사용성 저하’, ‘비용’, ‘기술적 한계’ 순으로 나타났다. 잠재 사용자가 지닌 스마트홈에 대한 사용 목표와 우려에 있어 실제 사용자와의 차이점이 나타나는 부분을 논의하고, 향후 일반 사용자를 대상으로 한 스마트홈 디자인에서 고려해야 할 부분을 제시하였다. Despite the significant growth of smart home technologies, it is still in the early adopter stage, which is not yet widely adopted by mainstream users. To spread the smart home technologies, it is necessary to understand the motivations and concerns of prospective users. However, many existing studies have been conducted on actual users of smart home. In this study, we conducted a survey of general users to identify the goals and specific functions expected to be achieved through the smart home, and concerns associated with it. A total of 237 responses were analyzed through the thematic analysis method. As a result of the analysis, the participants expected to achieve goals such as ‘convenience’, ‘self-management’, ‘saving’, ‘safety/security’, and ‘pleasure’ through the smart home. 188 concerns about smart home use were collected. The themes of the concerns were 'malfunction', 'security/safety risk', 'negative change of user behavior', 'decreased usability', 'cost', and 'technical limitation' in order. We discussed the areas where prospective users differ from actual users in their goals and concerns about smart home, and suggested areas to be considered in smart home design for prospective users.

      • Numerical Synthesis of an Optimal Low-Sidelobe Beam Pattern for a Microphone Array

        <P>This letter describes a numerical algorithm for synthesizing optimal low-sidelobe beampatterns. The pattern synthesis problem is formulated as a constrained optimization that minimizes the spatially weighted energy arriving at the array subject to unit gain in the look direction and a constant sidelobe level. The weighting takes on the form of a sensor correlation matrix, parameterized between uncorrelated sensor noise and correlated signal arrival terms according to a balancing factor. Setting the balancing factor to its extreme values of 0 and 1, produces, respectively, the optimal Riblet-Chebyshev and Delay-and-Sum type beamformers. In between, the method generates a low-sidelobe beamformer with varying beamwidths that provides a trade-off between White Noise Gain and Directivity Index. Simulation examples demonstrate optimal and intermediate designs for uniform and non-uniform sensor spacings.</P>

      • Development of Virtual Gamma-Ray Energy Spectrum Simulator Program for Training

        Gamma spectrometry is one of the main analysis methods used to obtain information about unknown radioactive materials. In gamma-ray energy spectrometry, even for the same gamma-ray spectrum, the analysis results may be slightly different depending on the skill of the analyst. Therefore, it is important to increase the proficiency of the analyst in order to derive accurate analysis results. This paper describes the development of the virtual spectrum simulator program for gamma spectrometry training. This simulator program consists of an instructor module and trainee module program based on an integrated server, in which the instructor transmits a virtual spectrum of arbitrarily specified measurement conditions to the students, allowing each student to submit analysis results. It can reproduce a virtual gamma-ray energy spectrum based on virtual reality and augmented reality technique and includes analysis function for the spectrum, allowing users to experience realistic measurement and analysis online. The virtual gamma-ray energy spectrum DB program manages a database including theoretical data obtained by Monte Carlo simulation and actual measured data, which are the basis for creating a virtual spectrum. The currently developed database contains data on HPGe laboratory measurement as well as in-situ measurements (ground surface, decommissioned facility wall, radiowaste drum) of portable HPGe detectors, LaBr3(Ce) detector and NaI detector. The analysis function can be applied not only to the virtual spectrum, but also to the input measured spectrum. The parameters of the peak analysis algorithm are customizable so that even low-resolution spectra can be properly analyzed. The validity of the database and analysis algorithm was verified by comparing with the results derived by the existing analysis programs. In the future, the application of various in-situ gamma spectrometers will be implemented to improve the profiling of the depth distribution of deposited nuclides through dose rate assessment, and the applicability of the completed simulator in actual in-situ gamma spectrometry will be verified.

      • Coexisting Respiratory Comorbidities and Mortality Risk in Patients with Asthma: A National Cohort Study

        Background Asthma patients often have coexisting pulmonary comorbidities that are associated with severe presentation, poor quality of life, and more health care resource use. However, except for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), the impact of coexisting pulmonary comorbidities on mortality in patients with asthma has not been comprehensively evaluated using nationally representative data. Methods Using a nationally representative sample database, we performed a retrospective cohort study of patients with asthma and age- and sex-matched cohort. We estimated hazard ratio (HR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) for mortality comparing the asthma cohort with the matched cohort. Results During a median of 8.9 follow-up duration, the overall mortality rate was higher in the asthma cohort than in the matched cohort (1,312/100,000 person-years vs. 1,174/100,000 person-years, p <0.001). The HR for mortality in the asthma cohort relative to the matched cohort asthma was 1.13 (95% confidence interval [CI], 1.07-1.19), which was especially higher in males (HR = 1.22, 95% CI = 1.13-1.31) and patients under 60 years (HR = 1.25, 95% CI = 1.10-1.42). Comorbid respiratory diseases further increased mortality of patients in the asthma cohort compared to those in the matched cohort (adjusted HR = 2.94, 95% CI = 2.75-3.14 for COPD; adjusted HR = 2.50, 95% CI = 2.07-3.02; adjusted HR = 7.30, 95% CI = 4.60-11.58 for lung cancer; and adjusted HR = 1.92, 95% CI = 1.75-2.09 for pneumonia). Conclusions Patients with asthma had a higher mortality rate compared to those without asthma, especially in males and those under 60 years. Coexisting pulmonary comorbidities, including COPD, bronchiectasis, lung cancer, and pneumonia, primarily explained the higher mortality in patients with asthma compared to those without asthma.
