The effects of oxidation and nitridation temperatures (500-1100°C) on metal-oxide-semiconductor charac-teristics of sputtered Zr thin film on Si in N2O ambient have been systematically investigated. The sample being oxidized and nitrided at 700°C has demonstrated the highest effective dielectric constant of 21.82 and electrical breakdown field of 13.6 MV cm−1at a current density of 10−6A cm−2. This is attributed to the lowest effective oxide charge, interface-trap density, and total interface-trap density of the oxide and the highest barrier height of conduction band offset between the oxide and semiconductor when compared with others.

Contrast reflux from superior vena cava into azygos system may be mistaken for pathology. We report a case occurring during CT coronary angiography (CTCA) causing diagnostic uncertainty. A linear hyperdensity anterior and left of the upper thoracic vertebrae was seen during CTCA and mistaken for abnormal calcification. However, this was not seen on non-contrasted coronary calcium images. The hyperdensity correlated to the location of the unenhanced azygos vein seen on test bolus images. Although reported in CT pulmonary angiography, contrast in the azygos system is less common in CTCAs as the longer scan delay allows contrast washout. However, right arm contrast injection, the default for CTCA, is an association. Moreover, right heart and pericardial diseases are also potential causes. Cardiac imagers should be aware of this potential pitfall.
SMC Reliable Design for T-S Model-Based Systems

This paper studies the robust reliable control issues based on the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy system modeling method and the sliding mode control (SMC) technique. The combined scheme is shown to have the merits of both approaches. It not only alleviates the on-line computational burden by using the T-S fuzzy system model to approximate the original nonlinear one (since most of the system parameters of the T-S model can be computed off-line) but it also preserves the advantages of rapid response and robustness of the SMC schemes. Moreover, the combined scheme does not require on-line computation of any nonlinear term of the original dynamics and the increase in the partition number of the region of premise variables does not create extra on-line computational burdens for the scheme. Under the design, the control mission can continue safely without prompt external support even when the susceptible actuators fail to operate. The proposed analytical results are also applied to the attitude control of a spacecraft. Simulation results demonstrate the benefits of the proposed scheme.

A 64-year-old lady underwent CT coronary angiography. Rhythm tracing showed initial sinus bradycardia with sudden onset of atrial tachycardia (AT) during contrast administration and breath-holding, which resolved almost immediately after the scan. Motion artifacts were seen. This recurred during a repeat attempt, but self-terminated before the images were acquired. We hypothesize that the AT may be contributed by both respiratory cycle-dependent AT and use of iodinated contrast. Although rare and not previously reported in the setting of cardiac CT, we demonstrated that respiratory cycle-dependent AT can be triggered by conditions universally present during coronary CT, namely the need for deep inspiration, breath holding and intravenous iodinated contrast. This poses a unique challenge for coronary CT imaging and greater awareness of this entity is needed amongst CT technologists and physicians.
of Midcourse Guidance Laws via a Combination of Fuzzy and SMC Approaches
Yew-Wen Liang,Chun-Hone Chen,Der-Cherng Liaw,Shih-Tse Chang,Sheng-Dong Xu 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2010 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.8 No.2
Issues regarding the design of midcourse guidance laws for antimissiles are addressed. The antimissile is expected to be guided to a place with a desired direction, where a ballistic missile is predicted to pass in the reverse direction, so that the target can be easily found and locked for terminal interception. The predicted location and direction of a ballistic missile may vary with time, due to information update using a trajectory prediction algorithm. To fulfill the guidance performance, the guidance laws are designed by combining the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy approach and the Sliding Mode Control (SMC) technique. Under the designed guidance law, it is shown that the antimissile is able to be efficiently guided to a specified location and direction, even when the existence of uncertainties and disturbances.
Fast Drone Detection using SSD and YoloV3
Yew Ji Hao,Lee Koon Teck,Chua Ying Xiang,Enoch Jeevanraj,Sutthiphong Srigrarom 제어로봇시스템학회 2021 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2021 No.10
This paper aims to introduce the method of detection of high-speed drones using both Single Shot Detector (SSD) and YOLOv3 (You Only Look Once)v3. After conducting experiments and obtaining footage of the fast-flying drones, the software and algorithms are being put to the test. In a motion detector, there are 3 main fundamentals - unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) detection, UAV identification and tracking of the UAV, which will be introduced as a preliminary UAV detection system to spark of the use of other more advanced image recognition based detector. The alternative of using SSD and YOLOv3 will be the main discussion to target high-speed drones.
Hazardless Biomedical Sensing Data Transmission Using VLC
Yew-Kiat Cheong,Xiao-Wei Ng,Wan-Young Chung IEEE 2013 IEEE SENSORS JOURNAL Vol.13 No.9

The implementation of radio-frequency communication technologies in biomedical or healthcare applications involves multiple issues such as interference with precision medical instruments and human health hazard because of electromagnetic waves. A novel visible light communication technology for transmitting and monitoring biomedical data is presented. White beam light emitting diodes are used as optical information emitters for efficiently transmitting biomedical data such as patient information text and wavelike body sensor signals. ON/OFF keying modulation is used to modulate the data onto the visible light beam, and a high-speed p-i-n photo-detector is employed at the receiver. Experimental analysis of the data collected using this system demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method.
