      • Experimental Research of Flow-Coupled Secondary Regulation System Using Nonlinear Controller

        A nonlinear mathematical model of the flow-coupled secondary regulation system was established. Then, the exact feedback linearization was applied to transform the system into a linear one by coordinates transformation and state-space feedback based on its nonlinear model. Furthermore, the zero dynamics was analyzed to prove the stability of the system so as to verify the feasibility of the exact linearization control scheme. And the LQR controller was design on the basis of the exact linearization control scheme. Finally, the experimental results show that the Flow-coupled secondary regulation system using the LQR controller based on the exact linearization control scheme has good performance and does better than PID controller when it works far from zero point.

        Density oscillation of plasma sheath and its influence on electromagnetic wave behavior

        In the area of hypersonic fight, the existence of plasma sheath will interfere with signals transmission, such as for wireless communication, telemetry, and control, even cause transmission interruption so as to threaten fight safety. Over the past decades, the infuence of plasma sheath on electromagnetic transmission becomes one of the essential issues in this feld. Through analysis of experimental data, this paper fnds that apart from the conventional physical properties, such as the electron density, the geometric characteristic, and the collision frequency, the distribution characteristic in space of plasma density possesses an obvious oscillation phenomenon which possible to exert important infuences on electromagnetic wave behaviors. To quantitatively describe this phenomenon, the probability theory is introduced to develop a physical modeling method for the plasma sheath with density oscillation feature. Then, the transmission matrix method is developed to investigate the infuence of the sheath oscillation characteristic on radiowave transmission, which is mainly focused on the interaction with density oscillation expectation. Results obtained in this paper not only present a more accurate method to model plasma sheath in real environment, but also demonstrate that its inherent random feature is of great importance to determine the electromagnetic transmission behaviors, deserving further investigations.

      • Lack of Association of Three Common Polymorphisms in Toll-like receptors (TLRs), TLR2+597T>C, +1350C>T and Arg753Gln with Cancer Risk: a Meta-analysis

        Background: Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) occurring in Toll-like receptors (TLRs) may contribute to cancer risk. Many polymorphisms of TLR2 have been studied for associations, but the findings are conflicting. Methodology/Principal Findings: We performed a meta-analysis of 14 studies to confirm the association between TLR2+597T>C (rs3804099), +1350C>T (rs3804100) and Arg753Gln (rs5743708) polymorphisms and cancer risk. Odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) were used to assess the strength of associations. There was no significant association between TLR2+597T>C and cancer risk in the codominant models (CC vs. TT: OR = 1.01, 95%CI = 0.86-1.17, $P_{heterogeneity}=0.148$; CT vs. TT: OR = 0.92, 95%CI = 0.69-1.23, $P_{heterogeneity}$ < 0.001), the recessive model (CC vs. CT+TT: OR = 0.86, 95%CI = 0.67-1.10, $P_{heterogeneity}=0.007$), the dominant model (CC+CT vs. TT: OR = 0.93, 95%CI = 0.76-1.15, $P_{heterogeneity}=0.001$) and the allele model (C vs. T: OR =0.93, 95%CI = 0.81-1.08, $P_{heterogeneity}=0.019$). Similarly, no significant associations between TLR2+1350C>T, Arg753Gln polymorphisms and cancer risk were found. However, in the sub-group analysis of ethnicities, the trend of pooled ORs in Asians was opposite to Caucasians. Conclusions: The present meta-analysis suggests that TLR2+597T>C (rs3804099), +1350C>T (rs3804100) and Arg753Gln (rs5743708) polymorphisms are not associated with cancer risk.

        Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor May Be Involved in the Behavioral Changes of Progeny Rats after Exposure to Ceftriaxone Sodium during Pregnancy

        Antibiotic exposure during pregnancy have an adversely effects on offspring behavior and development. However, its mechanism is still poorly understood. To uncover this, we added ceftriaxone sodium to the drinking water of rats during pregnancy and conducted three-chamber sociability test, open-field test, and Morris water maze test in 3- and 6-week-old offspring. The antibiotic group offspring showed lower sociability and spatial learning and memory than control. To determine the role of the gut microbiota and their metabolites in the changes in offspring behavior, fecal samples of 6-week-old offspring rats were sequenced. The composition of dominant gut microbial taxa differed between the control and antibiotic groups. KEGG pathway analysis showed that S24-7 exerted its effects through the metabolic pathways including mineral absorption, protein digestion and absorption, Valine, leucine, and isoleucine biosynthesis. Correlation analysis showed that S24-7 abundance was negatively correlated with the level of VEGF, and metabolites associated with S24-7-including 3-aminobutanoic acid, dacarbazine, L-leucine, 3-ketosphinganine, 1-methylnicotinamide, and N-acetyl-L-glutamate-were also significantly correlated with VEGF levels. The findings suggest that antibiotic exposure during pregnancy, specifically ceftriaxone sodium, will adversely affects the behavior of offspring rats due to the imbalance of gut microbiota, especially S24-7, via VEGF and various metabolic pathways.

        <P>Type I interferons (IFNs), including IFN-β, are known to enhance antigen (Ag) presentation and to promote the expansion, survival and effector function of CD8+ cytotoxic lymphocytes (CTL) during viral infections. Furthermore, IFN-β is a potent candidate for antitumor drugs; however, recombinant IFN-β is too unstable for use in tumor therapy in vivo. In this study, we therefore examined the efficacy and mechanism of exogenous IFN-β as a biomolecule for tumor therapy, using adenovirus encoding IFN-β (Ad-IFNβ) as a therapeutic agent in a mouse model. Ag104Ld and 4T1 tumor cells exposed to Ad-IFNβ showed growth retardation and cell death in vitro, and tumor growth as well as tumor metastasis was inhibited in vivo. The Ad-IFNβ-mediated antitumor effect was dependent on CD8+ T cells in vivo, rather than on a direct cytotoxic effect of Ad-IFNβ. Transient T lymphocyte depletion was observed in tumor tissue after intratumoral injection with Ad-IFNβ. Despite the T lymphocyte depletion, the proliferation of Ag-specific CD8+ T cells was increased in Ad-IFNβ-treated mice compared to control virus-treated mice. These results suggest that IFN-β might contribute to the inhibition of tumor growth by depleting Ag-nonspecific T lymphocytes and enhancing proliferation of Ag-specific CD8+ T cells.</P>
