Self-driving safety is one of the major concerns raised with regard to pushing the use of automated vehicles on roads. Fully automated vehicles are forced to make appropriate decisions in an uncertain environment where driverless and human-driven vehicles share the road together. This study proposes a new model that can be used to enhance the autonomous driving behavior at a non-signalized intersection considering the traffic safety guarantee, delay time, and smooth driving. The proposed model is called the responsibility-sensitive safety-based partially observable Markov decision process model for the decision-making mechanism of automated vehicles. The model not only increases traffic safety guarantee and smooth driving, but also reduces the delay time. First, we generate some specific driving scenarios using the automated driving toolbox in MATLAB. Second, the driving strategy of automated vehicles is optimized by the partially observable Markov decision process framework using the adaptive cruise control system. Finally, the responsibility-sensitive safety algorithm is implemented under adaptive model predictive control. The proposed model performs better than the classical adaptive model predictive control. In the best case, the proposed model took a 31.60 % reduction in braking time and a 51.20 % improvement in smoothing speed control.

This paper investigates the determinants of credit accessibility and the effect of credit on the income of farm households borrowing from Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Giong Rieng District Branch, Kien Giang Province. Based on the primary data of 200 farming households who are the customer of the bank, the study applied the Probit regression model to examine determinant factors of credit accessibility of farm households and employed the Propensity score matching method to investigate the impact of credit on households’ income. The findings of the Probit regression shown that three independent variables that significantly influence the access to credit of households are household size, income source, and farm size. Besides that, the Propensity score matching method results showed a difference of 23.799 million VND/year between the income of borrowing households and that of non-borrowing households at the significance level of 1%. The difference in the imcome from the interval and central matching methods are VND 24.700 million VND/year and VND 24.633 million VND/year, respectively. Given empirical findings suggetsted that several recommendations to increase the credit accessibility of farm households, thereby creating favorable conditions for improving their income.

<P>Stretchable and conformal humidity sensors that can be attached to the human body for continuously monitoring the humidity of the environment around the human body or the moisture level of the human skin can play an important role in electronic skin and personal healthcare applications. However, most stretchable humidity sensors are based on the geometric engineering of non-stretchable components and only a few detailed studies are available on stretchable humidity sensors under applied mechanical deformations. In this paper, we propose a transparent, stretchable humidity sensor with a simple fabrication process, having intrinsically stretchable components that provide high stretchability, sensitivity, and stability along with fast response and relaxation time. Composed of reduced graphene oxide-polyurethane composites and an elastomeric conductive electrode, this device exhibits impressive response and relaxation time as fast as 3.5 and 7 s, respectively. The responsivity and the response and relaxation time of the device in the presence of humidity remain almost unchanged under stretching up to a strain of 60% and after 10,000 stretching cycles at a 40% strain. Further, these stretchable humidity sensors can be easily and conformally attached to a finger for monitoring the humidity levels of the environment around the human body, wet objects, or human skin.</P>

The aim of this paper was to analyze the determinants of the extent of individual credit rationing at Can Tho Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB). The data was collected from 150 customers according to the systematic random sampling method listed in the bank. This study employed quantitative analysis methods, and Tobit regression model, to test the proposed hypotheses. The results showed that the average loan amount of an individual customer was 1,181.3 million VND, the average credit limit was 48.6%, and the average interest rate was 10.9% per year. Most of the individual customers borrowed money to buy properties. In addition, the analysis results also indicated that individual borrowers still faced some difficulties in accessing bank credit, such as cumbersome procedures, long waiting times, insufficient collateral assets, and loan documents. The results of the Tobit model pointed out that there were five factors affecting the degree of credit rationing to individual customers at the bank, including (1) Collateral, (2) Income, (3) Credit history, (4) Loan purpose, (5) Relationship between borrower and bank. Based on the empirical findings, the possible solutions for the bank and individual borrowers to improve credit efficiency for individual customers at commercial banks are obtained.

If one is looking for an organization that will be responsive to community needs, stimulate economic growth, and raise people’s income, cooperatives should be an obvious choice (Calkins & Ngo, 2005; Larocque et al., 2002). This paper investigates whether the households’ income is affected by the access to cooperatives for the case of Phong Dien district, Can Tho city of Vietnam. Data used are directly collected from 250 households that are both participating (120 observations) and not participating in the cooperatives in Truong Long, Tan Thoi, Nhon Ai and Nhon Nghia communes. By using the Probit model, the findings show that there are three statistically significant factors affecting the ability of farm households to participate in the cooperatives at the 1 percent level including land area, distance to market center, and education level. In addition, the PSM model analysis suggests that the average income of cooperative members is significantly higher than that of non-members, about 40.880 million VND/year at the significance level of 1 percent. The empirical results imply that being a cooperative member is a significant contributory factor toward an increase in household income. Based on the research findings, several recommendations to improve the households’ income are proposed.

<P>A flexible ultraviolet (UV) photodetector based on ZnO nanorods (NRs) as nanostructure sensing materials integrated into a graphene (Gr) field-effect transistor (FET) platform is investigated with high performance. Based on the negative shift of the Dirac point (<I>V</I>Dirac) in the transfer characteristics of a phototransistor, high-photovoltage responsivity (<I>R</I>V) is calculated with a maximum value of 3 × 108 V W–1. The peak response at a wavelength of ∼365 nm indicated excellent selectivity to UV light. The phototransistor also allowed investigation of the photocurrent responsivity (<I>R</I>I) and photoconductive gain (<I>G</I>) at various gate voltages, with maximum values of 2.5 × 106 A W–1 and 8.3 × 106, respectively, at a gate bias of 5 V. The UV response under bending conditions was virtually unaffected and was unchanged after 10 000 bending cycles at a bending radius of 12 mm, subject to a strain of 0.5%. The attributes of high stability, selectivity, and sensitivity of this flexible UV photodetector based on a ZnO NRs/Gr hybrid FET indicate promising potential for future flexible optoelectronic devices.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/aamick/2015/aamick.2015.7.issue-20/acsami.5b02834/production/images/medium/am-2015-028343_0004.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/am5b02834'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>
