PRECISE SPEED CONTROL OF ULTRASONIC MOTORS BY REPETITIVE CONTROL WITH FUZZY REASONING
Tomonobu Senjyu,Hiroshi Miyazato,Katsumi Uezoto 전력전자학회 1995 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.1995 No.10
Ultrasonic motor is a new type motor and it has many useful features. This motor, however, has large speed ripple which arises from inherent natures caused by its driving principle and structure, and it is a significant problem in view of precise speed control. In this paper, we pay attention to periodicity of the speed ripple and reduce the speed ripple by repetitive control with variable learning factor based on fuzzy reasoning. The effectiveness of proposed control scheme is demonstrated by experiments.

Machine parameters need to measure in advance for vector control and theoretical analysis Therefore, we present the machine parameter measurement scheme, considering stator iron loss, by the single-phase test at standstill condition Using this method, the d-q axis inductances and the equivalent iron loss resistance in the voltage equation considering stator iron loss are easily measuied This method is simple and does not need to use complex theory and expensive equipment.
Wide-Speed-Range Optimal PAM Control for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors

Generally, PWM voltage source inverter (VSI) has been used for the variable speed permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives. However, the PWM-VSI fed PMSMs has two disadvantages. Firstly, PMSMs cannot operate at the speed at which the motor terminal voltage exceeds voltage constraint imposed by the DC-link voltage. Secondly, the distortion of the voltage commands increase at the low speed, because the DC-link voltage is significantly higher than the motor line voltage. Because of this, the armature currents are distorted and then the torque ripple increases. Consequently, higher DC-link voltage influences the speed control performance at the low speed range. This paper proposes an optimal PAM control which can adjust the inverter DC-link voltage by using the buck-boost DC-DC converter. Further, considering the electrical vehicle application, the converter enables bi-directional power flow. At low speed range, the proposed system can reduce the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the voltage commands, and then the armature currents waveforms would be improved. Also, the allowable speed range would be extended. In order to verify the proposed method, simulation results are presented.
A Coordinated Control Method for Leveling Output Power Fluctuations of Multiple PV Systems

A Photovoltaic (PV) system’s power output fluctuates with the change of weather conditions. Frequency deviations, tie line voltage fluctuations etc. are caused by fluctuating PV power when large PV power from several PV systems is penetrated in the utility. In this paper, to overcome these problems, a simple coordinated control method for leveling the fluctuations of combined PV power from multiple PV systems is proposed. Here, output power command is generated in two steps: central and local. Fuzzy control is used to generate the central leveling output power command considering insolation, variance of insolation and absolute average of frequency deviation. In local step, a simple coordination is maintained between central power command and local power commands by producing a common tuning factor. Power converters are used to achieve the same output power as local command power employing PI control law for each of the PV generation systems. The proposed method is compared with the method where conventional Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) control is used for each of the PV system’s power output. Simulation results show that the proposed method is effective for leveling output power fluctuations and feasible to reduce the frequency deviations of the power utility.
A Maximum Power Point Tracking Control for Photovoltaic Array without Voltage Sensor

This paper presents a maximum power point tracking algorithm for Photovoltaic array using only instantaneous output current information. The conventional Hill climbing method of peak power tracking has a disadvantage of oscillations about the maximum power point. To overcome this problem, we have developed an algorithm that will estimate the duty ratio corresponding to maximum power operation of solar cell. The estimation of the optimal duty ratio involves, finding the duty ratio at which integral value of output current is maximum. For the estimation, we have used the well know Lagrange's interpolation method. This method can track maximum power point quickly even for changing solar isolation and avoids oscillations after reaching the maximum power point.

This paper presents a speed control for ultrasonic motors using a PI controller and disturbance torque observer Since the PI gams and the observer's poles are generally fixed, the control performance deteriorates when the driving conditions vary much Therefore, we propose the speed control scheme that the PI gains and the observer's poles are adjusted on-line in accordance with the speed ripple using fuzzy reasoning.
Using the disturbance and speed observers for controlling two-link robot arm is very useful. However, these observers have estimation error, the estimation error is a one of important issue for control performance or stability of the system. This paper presents the trajectory control method considering the estimation errors. This proposed control scheme provides a class of controllers which can compensate the estimation error of observers. In order to verify the validity of proposed control scheme, simulation results are also presented.

Permanent magnet synchronous mo tors generally require a rotor position sensor to achieve the vector control, however, this sensor increases prod uct cost and size of the motor and restricts the in dustrial drive applications. From these backgrounds, position sensorless control has received wide attention. This paper presents a new sensorless drive system for Cylindrical PMSM that provides high-performance vec tor control system using full-order state observer, which provides rotor position and speed information without position and speed sensors.
