Freeze-dried kimchi fractions, water-soluble (WSK) versus water-insoluble (WISK), on their effects on plasma lipids and for their fibrinolytic activities were studied. Nineteen middle-aged healthy subjects were assigned to WSK, WISK, or placebo during 6 weeks of kimchi supplementation. Subjects in the WSK and WISK groups were supplemented with 3 grams of kimchi pills (equivalent to 60 grams of fresh kimchi), while the placebo group was on their normal diets. LDL/HDL and atherogenic index decreased in the subjects who received kimchi pills, but not in those in the placebo group. The levels of plasma triglyceride were significantly decreased in the WSK group compared with those in the WISK group (p<0.05). However, there was no difference in the levels of total cholesterol and HDL between the two groups. Fibrinolytic activity of WISK was significantly higher than that of WSK.

Previous studies have shown that kimchi and kimchi-derived 3-(4'-hydroxyl-3', 5'-dimethoxyphenyl) propionic acid have anti-oxidative and hypolipidemic effects in rats and rabbits. This study was designed to investigate whether chemically synthesized 3-(4'-hydroxyl-3', 5' -dimethoxyphenyl) propionic acid (HDMPPA) may ameliorate oxidative stress through the regulation of nuclear factor KB (NFkB) activation in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 murine macrophage cells. Treatment of RAW 264.7 cells with 400 uM of HDMPPA significantly reduced LPS-stimulated nitric oxide (NO) production. Treatments with HDMPPA at 100 uM to 400 uM concentrations significantly elevated glutathione (GSH) level. However, cell viability and thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS) concentrations were not affected by the concentrations of HDMPPA used. The specific DNA binding activities of NFKB, a transcription factor which is sensitive to oxidative stress, were not down-regulated by HDMPPA treatments. These results suggest that HDMPPA may have weak anti-oxidative activity against LPS challenge by scavenging NO and stimulating GSH production.
Radargrammetry를 이용한 C-밴드 및 X-밴드 SAR 위성영상의 DEM 생성 평가

SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar) 영상으로부터 3차원 정보를 추출하는 방법에는 InSAR기법과 radargrammetry기법이 있다. 지금까지는 정밀한 DEM의 생성을 위해서 InSAR가 주로 사용되어 왔으나 InSAR는 지형의 기복이 심하거나 혹은 식생지역에서도 두 영상사이에 높은 상관도를 요구한다. 이에 비해 radargrammetry는 InSAR에 비해서 두 영상의 상관도에 덜 민감하기 때문에 경우에 따라서 DEM을 생성하는데 더 효과적일 수 있다. 특히 두 영상의 상관도를 유지하기가 어려운 X-밴드 SAR 위성영상의 경우는 DEM의 생성에 radargarmmetry가 더 유용할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 C-밴드 위성인 RADARSAT-1의 입체위성영상과 X-밴드인 TerraSAR-X 입체위성영상에 radargrammetry기법을 적용하여 DEM을 생성하고, 그 특성을 분석하였다. To extract the 3D geometric information from SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar) images, two different techniques, interferometric SAR and radargrammetry, have been widely used. InSAR is most widely used for the generation of precise DEM(Digital Elevation Model) until now. But, Interferometric SAR requires severe temporal correlation over areas covered with vegetation and high relief areas. Because radargrammetry is less sensible to temporal correlation, it can provide better results than interferometric SAR in certain, especially X-band SAR. In this paper, we assess the properties of DEMs generated by radargrammetry using stereo C-band RADARSAT-1 images and X-band TerraSAR-X images.

대기보정은 항공기나 위성으로부터 취득한 초분광 영상의 영상분류 정확도를 높이기 위한 필수적이고 중요한 과정이다. 그러나 드론 초분광 영상은 항공기나 위성에 비해 비교적 저고도에서 데이터가 취득되므로 대기에 의한 왜곡이 많지 않으며, 이에 대기보정의 과정이 불필요할 수도 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 드론 초분광 영상의 대기보정 필요성을 분석하기 위해 각각 30m, 80m, 150m, 200m, 300m로 고도를 달리하여 영상을 취득하고 고도별, 타깃별 스펙트럼의 변화를 비교하였다. 또한, 복잡한 매개변수를 요구하지 않는 quick atmospheric correction(QUAC)과 경험적 선형보정(empirical line correction)기법을 이용하여 대기보정을 수행하고, 두 방법의 성과를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 드론 초분광 영상의 경우 고도에 따라 스펙트럼의 변화가 크지 않았으며, QUAC 기법보다 경험적 선형보정 기법이 대기보정의 결과가 더 좋은 것으로 나타났다. Atmospheric correction is an essential and important process to improve the accuracy of image classification of hyperspectral images acquired from aircraft or satellites. However, since the drone hyperspectral image is acquired at a relatively low altitude compared to an aircraft or a satellite, there is not much distortion due to the atmosphere, and thus the process of atmospheric correction may be unnecessary. Therefore, in this study, in order to analyze the necessity of atmospheric correction of drone hyperspectral images, images were acquired at different altitudes of 30m, 80m, 150m, 200m, and 300m, respectively, and the changes in spectrum for each altitude and target were compared. In addition, atmospheric correction was performed using quick atmospheric correction(QUAC) and Empirical Line Correction Method, which do not require complex parameters, and the results of both methods were analyzed. As a result, in the case of the drone hyperspectral image, the change in spectrum was not large according to the altitude, and the empirical line correction method showed better results of atmospheric correction than the QUAC method.
