        Rayleigh waves in porous orthotropic medium with phase lags

        The present article deals with the propagation of Rayleigh surface waves in homogeneous orthotropic medium. This thermoelastic problem is studied under the purview of three-phase-lag model of hyperbolic thermoelasticity in the presence of voids. The normal mode analysis is employed to obtain a vector matrix differential equation which is then solved by eigenvalue approach. The frequency equations for different cases are derived. In order to illustrate the analytical developments, the numerical solution is carried out and the computer simulated results in respect of phase velocity and attenuation coefficient are presented graphically. Phase velocity and attenuation coefficient decreases in the presence of voids. The present problem is the most general one as other problems can be obtained as special cases from it.

        LCB: Light Cipher Block An Ultrafast Lightweight Block Cipher For Resource Constrained IOT Security Applications

        In this fast-paced technological world, the Internet of Things is a ground breaking technology which finds an immense role in the present electronic world which includes different embedded sensors, devices and most other things which are connected to the Internet. The IoT devices are designed in a way that it helps to collect various forms of data from varied sources and transmit them in digitalized form. In modern era of IoT technology data security is a trending issue which greatly affects the confidentiality of important information. Keeping the issue in mind a novel light encryption strategy known as LCB is designed for IoT devices for optimal security. LCB exploits the benefits of Feistel structure and the architectural benefits of substitution permutation network both to give more security. Moreover, this newly designed technique is tested on (Virtex-7) XC7VX330T FPGA board and it takes much little area of 224 GE (Gate Equivalent) and is extremely fast with very less combinational path delay of 0.877 ns. An in-depth screening confirms the proposed work to promise more security to counter cryptographic attacks. Lastly the Avalanche Effect (AE) of LCB showed as 63.125% and 63.875% when key and plaintext (PT) are taken into consideration respectively.

        27R-SiAlON Reinforced AlN Composite: Synthesis, Sintering and Characterization

        Synthesis of powder containing a dual phase mixture of 27R-SiAlON and AlN has been successfully carried out throughcarbothermal reduction and nitridation route. The probable reaction sequences of formation have been identified through theanalysis of transient appearances of intermediate phases associated with parameters like loss of carbon, oxygen and weightas well as nitrogen uptake. Formation of 27R-SiAlON takes place through further reaction of a primary polytype phase,Si3Al7O3N9. FTIR spectra provide supplementary evidence for supporting the revealed model of reaction sequences. Particlesare agglomerative in nature consisting of fine grains, as low as below 50 nm in size. Spark plasma sintering was applied foran initial densification trial of this bi-phasic powder without externally added sintering aid. The densified samples exhibitedelongated grain-reinforced composite microstructure with improved properties over monolithic AlN.
