自然科 學習資料의 開發 : 現代 科學敎育에의 接近을 爲한 資料 Materials to Approach for Modern Science Education

This studies describes how to develop and avail learning materials to approach for modern science education. The materials consist of three parts biology, chemistry, and earth-science, in primary school science. Part of biology has been covered in detail "Growth of Plants" (2-1), "Life cycle of Plants" (3-1), "Environments and Plants" (4-1). Earth-Science's part covered a "Circulation of Atmosphare and Water" (5-1), and chemistrie's part provide fat in nourishment and digestion in "Human Body" (6-2) unit. This developed materials are inexpensive to keep and are convenient subjects for children's learning. They may study products of science, fumdamental principle for science and scientific thought.
녹두 種子 發芽에 미치는 H_2O_2의 영향에 關하여 (第1報)

The seeds of all species of plants require at least three external conditions before germination can occur; water, temperature, and oxygen. The fourth factor is light which has of importance in the germination of the seeds of some species. MIYAGI(1960) has shown the egg-plant seed germinates rapidly by free oxygen contained in H_2O_2. But during the early stages of germination of seeds of pea and some other species, respiration is largely or almost entirely of the anaerobic type. In a relatively short period, the influece of H_2O_2 and water on the germination of the green been seeds has been found as follows; 1. Germination of the green been seeds in H_2O_2 solution has been inhibited. 2. Germination of the green been seed in the water has occurred more rapidly in a closed district than in an open one. 3. Twenty seven hours after of the begining of this experiment the seed coat and the germination have not ruptured at all in H_2O_2 solution. 4. Growth of roots in the closed district has occurred more rapidly after the germination.

Miyagi(1960) has reported the new egg-plant seed germinates rapidly and homogeneously by 0.5% hydrogen peroxide solution. Writer(Kim, 1968) has shown the germination of the green bean seeds in 3% hydrogen peroxide solution has been inhibited. Influence of new seeds('68) and old ones('64) on the germination of the green bean seeds in 3% hydrogen peroxide solution has been found as follows; 1. Germination of the green bean seeds in the districts of water has occured more rapidly in new seeds than old ones. 2. Germination of the green bean seeds in the districts of hydrogen peroxide has occured delay than in the districts of water. 3. In the districts of hydrogen peroxide, especially germination of green bean seeds has occured more rapidly in old seeds than new ones. 4. Growth of roots in the districts of new seeds has longer than old seeds in water.

Besides excellence in materials to obtain bean sprout is an easy observation, interest and profitable ones. And plantain leaf is too easy broadly distribute in the world.

The present study was designed to evaluate the potential renoprotective impacts of apocynin (APC) against nephrotoxicity induced by methotrexate (MTX) administration. To fulfill this aim, rats were allocated into four groups: control; APC (100 mg/kg/day; orally); MTX (20 mg/kg; single intraperitoneal dose at the end of the 5th day of the experiment); and APC +MTX (APC was given orally for 5 days before and 5 days after induction of renal toxicity by MTX). On the 11th day, samples were collected to estimate kidney function biomarkers, oxidative stress, pro-inflammatory cytokines, and other molecular targets. Compared to the MTX control group, treatment with APC significantly decreased urea, creatinine, and KIM-1 levels and improved kidney histological alterations. Furthermore, APC restored oxidant/antioxidant balance, as evidenced by a remarkable alleviation of MDA, GSH, SOD, and MPO levels. Additionally, the iNOS, NO, p-NF-κB-p65, Ace-NF-κB-p65, TLR4, p-p38-MAPK, p-JAK1, and p-STAT-3 expressions were reduced, while the IκBα, PPAR-γ, SIRT1, and FOXO3 expressions were significantly increased. In NRK-52E cells, MTX-induced cytotoxicity was protected by APC in a concentration-dependent manner. In addition, increased expression of p-STAT-3 and p-JAK1/2 levels were reduced in MTX-treated NRK-52E cells by APC. The in vitro experiments revealed that APC-protected MTX-mediated renal tubular epithelial cells were damaged by inhibiting the JAK/STAT3 pathway. Besides, our in vivo and in vitro results were confirmed by predicting computational pharmacology results using molecular docking and network pharmacology analysis. In conclusion, our findings proved that APC could be a good candidate for MTX-induced renal damage due to its strong antioxidative and anti-inflammatory bioactivities.
Conjugated linoleic acid의 섭취와 운동여부가 체지방 함량이 높은 여대생의 체중과 체성분 변화에 미치는 영향

체중이 정상이면서 체지방률 함량이 30% 이상인 여성을 대상으로 CLA 보충과 운동 여부가 체지방함량과 체중 및 혈당, 혈중 지질 농도에 미치는 영향에 대하여 살펴 본 결과는 다음과 같다. 실험 대상자들의 평균 연령은 22세였으며, 실험이 진행되는 동안 대상자들은 식이 조절을 하지 않았다. 실험 대상자들의 실험 후 체중과 BMI, 체지방 함량의 변화를 살펴본 결과, CLA-운동군이 placebo-비운동군에 비해 체중과 BMI가 유의적으로 작았으며, 체지방 함량도 적은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 복부지방을 나타내는 허리둘레도 CLA-운동군이 placebo-비운동군과 비교하여 유의적으로 감소하여 CLA를 섭취하고 운동을 하는 것이 운동을 하거나, CLA만 섭취하는 것보다 체중 조절에 더 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 대상자들의 평균 공복혈당, TG, total cholesterol, LDL-C, HDL-C은 모두 정상 범위에 속하였고, CLA를 섭취하거나 운동을 하는 경우 혈중 HDL-콜레스테롤의 함량을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났으나, CLA와 운동을 병행하는 경우 상승효과를 보이지는 않았다. 이러한 결과, CLA를 보충함으로써 체중 조절을 하는 것보다는 CLA와 운동을 함께 병행하는 것이 체중 조절에 효과적이며, 혈중 지질 농도를 개선시킬 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. To investigate the effects of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and/or exercise on body fat mass and weight, college women of normal weight (21<BMI<23) and high body fat mass (>30%) were recruited for this study. The participants were divided into 4 groups: placebo-no exercise, placebo-exercise, CLA-no exercise, and CLA-exercise groups. Three grams of either a placebo (corn oil) or CLA were taken every day for 12 weeks, and the exercise groups performed 80 minutes of aerobic and anaerobic exercise three times a week for 12 weeks. There were no differences in nutrient intakes among the groups. The CLA-exercise group had significantly lower body weight, BMI and body fat mass compared to the placebo-no exercise group. In addition, the HDL-cholesterol levels of subjects in the CLA-no exercise and CLA-exercise groups significantly increased compared to those in the placebo-no exercise group. These results suggest that a combination of CLA supplementation with exercise could efficiently reduce body fat mass and body weight compared to CLA supplementation or exercise alone.
