        Selective area epitaxy of complex oxide heterostructures on Si by oxide hard mask lift-off

        Epitaxial complex oxide heterostructures on Si are an excellent platform for the realization of multifunctional electronicdevices to exploit the unique functionalities of the oxides that Si does not possess. It is often necessary to make patternsof epitaxial films on selected areas of Si. Here, a path towards the selective area epitaxial growth of complex oxide heterostructureson Si using a hard mask lift-off technique is reported. A water-soluble oxide (Sr3Al2O6) is used as a lift-offhard mask that can survive the high temperature (~ 750 °C) and oxidizing environments for epitaxial oxide growth and beselectively etched away subsequently using deionized water. It is found that the epitaxial growth of yttria-stabilized zirconia(YSZ) buffer layers on Si is very sensitive to organic residues formed during photolithography. Island patterns of epitaxial(La, Sr)MnO3/CeO2/YSZ heterostructures are successfully fabricated on Si through the use of oxygen plasma treatment toremove residues. A simple and low-cost method to pattern complex oxide single crystals integrated on Si for the realizationof multifunctional oxide-integrated electronics is provided in this study.

        Superwetting TiO2-decorated single-walled carbon nanotube composite membrane for highly efficient oil-in-water emulsion separation

        With the advantages of one-dimensional hollow structure, high porosity and prominent mechanical strength, single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) have been extensively utilized to improve conventional filtration membranes for oil/water separation. Their intrinsic hydrophobicity, however, adversely affects the anti-fouling performance of the SWCNT membrane. Herein, a super-hydrophilic and underwater super-oleophobic hierarchical modified membrane with enhanced permeability and anti-fouling property was fabricated using the vacuum-assisted filtration technique by synergistically assembling SWCNTs and titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles on a cellulose acetate membrane. Highly dispersed SWCNTs were obtained by carboxylating treatment of agglomerate SWCNTs. The controlled stacking of SWCNTs fibers and a controllable amount of TiO2 rendered a modified membrane with high porosity and hierarchical structure, leading to an ultrahigh water flux up to 4,777.07 L·m2·h1, and excellent separation performance with efficiency greater than 99.47%. Most importantly, the membrane exhibited excellent anti-fouling ability during ten cycles with the aid of the super-wetting property of TiO2 nanoparticles. The results indicated that coating TiO2 nanoparticles on SWCNTs modified the surface topography of the obtained SWCNT/TiO2 membrane, which improved hydrophilicity, permeability and anti-fouling property, manifesting attractive potential applications in oil/water separation.

      • Research on the Dynamic Complex Spatial Network Relations in Spatial Database

        Representation and analysis of the complex spatial network relations are of great significance in fields such as Geographic Information System,spatial database, spatial data mining and intelligent inference. As the existing research achievements cannot be used to deal with the dynamic complex spatial network relations effectively in reality, in order to make up for the deficiency of existing methods, the dynamic complex spatial network relations is studied in detail. The predicate representation methods of the strict and extended complex spatial network relations are proposed respectively. The dynamic logical hierarchical relationship and dynamic migration relationship of the strict spatial network relation are given. Furthermore, this paper lay emphasis on the study of the dynamic conversion and adjacent relevance of the extended complex spatial network, and some instance analyses are provided. The research achievements in this paper is rather suitable for dealing with issues about the representation, error correction and forecast of the dynamic complex spatial network relations, therefore, the ability of spatial database to deal with spatial relations of complex spatial object has been enhanced.
