Salinity-Induced Changes in Peroxidase Activity and Cell-Wall Polysaccharides in Vigna
Pujari, Dipti S.,Chanda, Sumitra V. 한국식물학회 2003 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.46 No.2
We investigated the effect of salinity on the development of seedlings of Vigna unguiculata. At various time intervals, the hypocotyls were measured to estimate the effect of salt concentration on growth parameters. Control plants were tallest and had the greatest fresh weights, whereas these values were lowest in seedlings treated with high levels of salt. Three hydrogen donors -- caffeic acid, ferulic acid, and pyrogalol -- were studied to determine the changes in peroxidase activity for both cytoplasmic and wall-bound fractions. Activity was inversely correlated with hypocotyl elongation. A clear concentration effect was also observed for contents of pectic polysaccharides, low-molecular-weight xyloglucan, and high-molecular-weight xyloglucan, with control seedlings showing lower levels of those wall components than that recorded in the salt-treated seedlings. Here, we also discuss the role of peroxidase and wall components in hypacotyl elongation and growth of Vigna when seedlings undergo saline stress.

By UV-irradiation of Eremothecium ashbyii DTl, a highly flavinogenic mutant (UV-18-57) and a nonflavinogenic mutant (UV-85) were obtained. The physio-morphological characteristics of these three strains were studied on glucose medium in submerged fermentation. Glucose utilization and mycelial growth occurred in 0-2 days of fermentation. By the third day, the biomass had declined. Extracellular riboflavin excretion was distinct from the second day, reaching a maximum rate by the fourth day. The hyphae of the highly flavinogenic mutant UV-18-57 were broader than DTI, while the nonflavinogenic UV-85 hyphae were very thin. Riboflavin accumulation was high in UV-18-57 (extracellular riboflavin, 825㎍/ml, and intracellular, 490㎍/ml) and caused the mycelia to swell into bulbous forms. Riboflavin accumulation was less in DTI (108㎍/ml extracellular and 24㎍/ml intracellular) and correspondingly its hyphae were thinner than those of UV-18-57 and swollen bulbous mycelia were not prominent. UV-85 was nonflavinogenic and, accordingly, its morphological characteristics included long thin filaments with no intracellular riboflavin accumulation. A large number of greenish fluorescence spores were seen in UV-18-57, whereas DTI had less spores and UV-85 was nonsporulating. Sporulation is correlated with riboflavin production. UV- 18-57 had better mycelial integrity and lysis started only by the seventh day, whereas DTI and UV-85 started to lyze earlier by 4-5 days. By the late stage of fermentation (eighth day), DT1 had a few long, thin filaments indicating some secondary growth, whereas UV-85 showed a compact pellet form of mycelia. Most mycelia of UV-18-57 still appeared intact.

Animal image recognition, classification and retrieval from a database based on shape features are of research interest in image processing. This paper proposes a combined graph and texture based approach for recognition of animal contour images. The methodology uses texture features of the complete graph image obtained from the contour of an object. MPEG-7 database is used for testing. The recognition accuracy of 96% is achieved and is an improvement over the state-of-the-reported results. The work has potential applications in image retrieval from databases.
Top Priority of Software Success Factors for Six Sigma Execution by a Fuzzy Hierarchical Process
Chandrakanth.G.Pujari,Dr.Seetharam.K 보안공학연구지원센터 2014 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.9 No.11
Six-Sigma quality enhancement methodology has received important attention in various software development and service organizations. There have been some researches recognizing serious software success factors for Six-Sigma execution. Within available resource compulsions, an immediate adoption of all serious software success factors may not be possible. In order to be able to consolidate resources for some of the most important factors, top priority serious software success factors have to be determined. This will enable Six-Sigma practitioners and policy makers to understand the relative importance among the software success factors and develop improvement ideas for resource provision. The aim of this paper is to present fuzzy hierarchy process (FHP) based on methodology with the use of triangular fuzzy values for pair wise comparison scale to top priority serious success factors for Six-Sigma execution. The weights of success factors are determined by software experts including software managers, Six-Sigma Green-Belts and Black-Belts from different multinational organizations in the software industry in India. This paper is an attempt to top priority to the serious software success factors of executing Six-Sigma methodology by using FHP approach.
Nanostructured Ni-Mn double hydroxide for high capacitance supercapacitor application
( Rahul B. Pujari ),( Dong-weon Lee ) 한국센서학회 2021 센서학회지 Vol.30 No.2
Recently, transition-metal-based hydroxide materials have attracted significant attention in various electrochemical applications owing to their low cost, high stability, and versatility in composition and morphology. Among these applications, transition-metal-based hydroxides have exhibited significant potential in supercapacitors owing to their multiple redox states that can considerably enhance the supercapacitance performance. In this study, nanostructured Ni-Mn double hydroxide is directly grown on a conductive substrate using an electrodeposition method. Ni-Mn double hydroxide exhibits excellent electrochemical charge-storage properties in a 1 M KOH electrolyte, such as a specific capacitance of 1364 Fg-1 at a current density of 1 mAcm-2 and a capacitance retention of 94% over 3000 charge-discharge cycles at a current density of 10 mAcm-2. The present work demonstrates a scalable, time-saving, and cost-effective approach for the preparation of Ni-Mn double hydroxide with potential application in high-charge-storage kinetics, which can also be extended for other transition-metal-based double hydroxides.
