        Thermokinetics behavior of epoxy adhesive reinforced with low viscous aliphatic reactive diluent and nano-fillers

        The current study reports the effect of low viscous aliphatic reactive diluent (RD), MWCNT and VGCF on the curing kinetics of amine cured epoxy adhesive system employing non-isothermal differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) technique. Non-isothermal DSC thermograms of epoxy adhesive were studied at various heating rates: 5, 10 and 15 oC/min. The decrease in the exothermic peak height with the introduction of MWCNTs and VGCFs was taken as proof of the acceleration effect of nano-fillers on the epoxy-amine curing reaction. Also, increased Tonset, TP and ΔHcurs values were observed for epoxy/RD adhesive system at all heating rates. The value of activation energy (Ea) was determined using Kissinger and Flynn-Wall-Ozawa methods. Experimental results showed that the addition of 10 wt% RD increased the Ea from 60 to 63 kJ/mol on account of the reduced viscosity, allowing better contact of resin with the curing agent. Furthermore, MWCNTs have an accelerating effect on the cure kinetics that does not change the autocatalytic cure reaction mechanism of epoxy resin. It was also found that the addition of MWCNT and VGCF decreases the overall degree of conversion, as evident with lower ΔHcure and Ea of the cured adhesive when compared with epoxy/RD system. The dependency of Ea on degree of conversion ranging from α =0.1 to 0.9was also investigated. The two normalized functions y(α) and z(α) were also considered in order to study the complex curing mechanism. The kinetic parameters m, n and lnA were obtained by using two parameter autocatalytic Sestak-Berggren model. The curves revealed good agreement between experimentally determined and theoretically obtained MWCNT/VGCF reinforced epoxy adhesive systems.

        An Updated Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis for the Diagnostic Test Accuracy of Ascitic Fluid Adenosine Deaminase in Tuberculous Peritonitis

        Background: Tuberculous peritonitis is difficult to diagnose due to its non-specific clinical manifestations and lack of proper diagnostic modalities. Current meta-analysis was performed to find the overall diagnostic accuracy of adenosine deaminase (ADA) in diagnosing tuberculous peritonitis. Materials and Methods: PubMed, Google Scholar, and Cochrane library were searched to retrieve the published studies which assessed the role of ascitic fluid ADA in diagnosing tuberculous peritonitis from Jan 1980 to June 2022. This meta-analysis included 20 studies and 2,291 participants after fulfilling the inclusion criteria. Results: The pooled sensitivity was 0.90 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.85 - 0.94) and pooled specificity was 0.94 (95% CI: 0.92 - 0.95). The positive likelihood ratio was 15.20 (95% CI: 11.70 - 19.80), negative likelihood ratio was 0.10 (95% CI: 0.07 - 0.16) and diagnostic odds ratio was 149 (95% CI: 86 - 255). The area under the summary receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.97. Cut- off value and sample size were found to be the sources of heterogeneity in the mete-regression analysis. Conclusion: Ascitic fluid ADA is a useful test for the diagnosis of tuberculous peritonitis with good sensitivity and specificity however, with very low certainty of evidence evaluated by Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluation approach. Further well- designed studies are needed to validate the diagnostic accuracy of ascitic fluid ADA for tuberculous peritonitis.

Rhythmic analysis of EEG signal is very important for extraction of good features for classification of movement imagery data. This paper proposed the feature which is sum of power spectral density of left hemisphere channel (C3) as well as right hemisphere channel (C4) for movement imagery trials.

        The Impact of Hybrid Vigour on Commercial Traits of the Indian Tropical Tasar Silkworm, Antheraea mylitta Drury (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae)

        The bivoltine tropical tasar ecoraces of Antheraea mylitta Drury produces cocoons for seed production under seed crop rearing (July-August with 22~30˚C temperature and 50~70% relative humidity) and for silk production under commercial crop rearing (September-December with 17~27˚C temperature and 60~80% relative humidity). To consider the impact of hybrid vigour on egg, larva, cocoon and silk related commercial traits, the F1 hybrids made among Daba, Jata and Raily ecoraces were assessed successively for three years. The hybrid vigour in the F1 hybrid of Daba×Jata (T7) was positive for egg fertility (+23.1%), shell weight (+25.6%), silk yield (+79.0%) and filament length (+68.1%), with filament of high denier (11.98d) and reduced larval span (-7.1%). The Jata×Daba (T8) hybrid has shown negative heterosis in egg fertility (-8.0%) compared to the other F1 hybrids, Daba×Raily (T9) and Raily×Daba (T10), when they rise simultaneously during the commercial crop season. The better performance of parental ecoraces (T4 to T6) in their commercial traits during commercial crop over parents of seed crop (T1 to T3) and the superior performance of F1 hybrids (T7 to T10) over parents of commercial crop (T4 to T6) during commercial crop season indicates the apparent hybrid vigour in tasar F1 hybrids. As the Daba×Jata (T7) and Jata×Daba (T8) F1 hybrids have shown highest hybrid vigour, their rearing during commercial crop can optimize the silk productivity and commercial sustenance of the tasar silk industry.
