The research discovered that the network in Shan State and Thailand are linked systematically because of economic reasons and the influence of media television from Thailand and other information from people with experience in Thailand. These were factors which influenced the decision of transnational laborers to work in Thailand. Moreover, the geographic location and the cultural background of the Shan in Maehongson province acted as a gateway to Thailand. Some solutions have been offered to prepare collaborative projects between Thailand and Myanmar, being managed by both parties and cooperating at the borders of both countries. For example, the “Maehongson Model” is an approach to solving problems and sustainable impact.
