A NOTE ON SOME CLOSURE TYPE PROPERTIES IN FUNCTION SPACES
Pavlovic Vladimir Korean Mathematical Society 2006 대한수학회지 Vol.43 No.3
We show that a group of three closure properties including the selectively Pytkeev property coincide on $C_k$(X) for a locally compact X. We also introduce a new game characterization of these properties for such spaces.
The Free Flow of Excellence Toward the Field-Being Approach to TQM
Pavlovic, Dusan The Korean Society for Quality Management 2005 The Asian Journal on Quality Vol.6 No.2
The concept of Total Quality Management may be perceived from different philosophical perspectives. In this paper we shall present a view on TQM from the perspective of Field-Being philosophy and compare it with the alternative philosophical views. From the perspective of Field-Being philosophy, the goal of TQM is to achieve the free flow of excellence at all levels: individual, team and organizational. By overcoming rigidity in thinking, behavior and performance TQM turns into an art-the Art of Quality Management, which is the source of true stakeholder delight.
Directionality in Translation and Interpreting Practice: Report on a questionnaire survey in Croatia
( Natasa Pavlovic ) 한국통역번역학회 2007 FORUM Vol.5 No.2

The article reports data on, and numerical modelling of, beams exhibiting points of inflection and subjected to sequential loading. Both tests and analysis point to inadequacies in current codes of practice. An alternative design methodology, which is strongly associated with the notion that contraflexure points should be designed as “internal supports”, is shown to produce superior performance even though it requires significantly less secondary reinforcement than that advocated by codes.

The Lyapunov exponent and moment Lyapunov exponents of Hill's equation with frequency and damping coefficient fluctuated by correlated wideband random processes are studied in this paper. The method of stochastic averaging, both the first-order and the second-order, is applied. The averaged $It\hat{o}$ differential equation governing the pth norm is established and the pth moment Lyapunov exponents and Lyapunov exponent are then obtained. This method is applied to the study of the almost-sure and the moment stability of the stationary solution of the thin simply supported beam subjected to time-varying axial compressions and damping which are small intensity correlated stochastic excitations. The validity of the approximate results is checked by the numerical Monte Carlo simulation method for this stochastic system.
FE validation of the equivalent diameter calculation model for grouped headed studs
Milan Spremic,Marko Pavlovic,Zlatko Markovic,Milan Veljkovic,Dragan Budjevac 국제구조공학회 2018 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.26 No.3
Existing design codes for steel-concrete composite structures give only general information about the shear connection provided by headed studs in group arrangement. Grouting of the openings in prefabricated concrete slabs, where the grouped headed studs are placed in the deck pockets is alternative to cast-in-place decks to accomplish fast execution of composite structures. This paper considers the possibility to reduce the distance between the studs within the group, bellow the Eurocode limitations. This may lead to increased competitiveness of the prefabricated construction because more studs are placed in the group if negative effectives of smaller distances between studs are limited. The main purpose of this work is to investigate these limits and propose an analytical calculation model for prediction of the shear resistance of grouped stud arrangements in the deck pockets. An advanced FEA model, validated by results of push-out experiments, is used to analyze the shear behavior of the grouped stud with smaller distance between them than recommended by EN 1994-1. Calculation model for shear resistance, which is consistent with the existing Eurocode rules, is proposed based on a newly introduced equivalent diameter of the stud group, <i>d</i>G. The new calculation model is validated by comparison to the results of FE parametric study. The distance between the studs in the longitudinal direction and the number of stud rows and columns in the group are considered as the main variables.
BiBloch mappings and composition operators from Bloch type spaces to BMOA
Kwon, E.G.,Pavlovic, M. Academic Press 2011 Journal of mathematical analysis and applications Vol.382 No.1
The problem of constructing functions f1, f2 analytic in the unit disc D of the complex plane satisfying|f1'(z)|+|f2'(z)|@?ψ(11-|z|),z@?D, is solved for a wide class of weights ψ that includes normal weights. Several applications are given. Particularly we can generalize known characterizations on Bloch-BMO pullbacks.

In the past, physical models have been proposed, in compliance with the concept of the compressive-force path, for the realistic design of various statically determinate structural concrete members. The present work extends these models so as to encompass indeterminate RC structural forms. Pilot tests conducted on continuous beams and fixed-ended portal frames have revealed that designing such members to present-day concepts may lead to brittle types of failure. On the other hand, similar members designed on the basis of the proposed physical models attained very ductile failures. It appears that, unlike current design approaches, the compressive-force path concept is capable of identifying those areas where failure is most likely to be triggered, and ensures better load redistribution, thus improving ductility. The beneficial effect of proper detailing at the point of contraflexure in an indeterminate RC member is to be noted.
Numerical investigation of RC structural walls subjected to cyclic loading
D.M. Cotsovos,M.N. Pavlovic 한국계산역학회 2005 Computers and Concrete, An International Journal Vol.2 No.3
This work is based on a nonlinear finite-element model with proven capacity for yieldingrealistic predictions of the response of reinforced-concrete structures under static monotonically-increasing loading. In it, the material description relies essentially on the two key properties of triaxiality and brittleness and, thus, is simpler than those of most other material models in use. In this article, the finiteelement program is successfully used in investigating the behaviour of a series of RC walls under static cyclic loading. This type of loading offers a more strenuous test of the validity of the proposed program since cracks continuously form and close during each load cycle. Such a test is considered to be essentialbefore attempting to use the program for the analysis of concrete structures under seismic excitation inorder to ensure that the solution procedure adopted is numerically stable and can accurately predict thebehaviour of RC structures under such earthquake-loading conditions. This is achieved through acomparative study between the numerical predictions obtained presently from the program and availableexperimental data.
