Preaching Digitally: Dynamisms of Deconstructing Religious Authority (the Case of Morocco)
( Mimoune Daoudi ),( Chaimae Bouchala ) 부산외국어대학교 북아프리카연구센터 2023 아프리카학 연구 Vol.3 No.2
The Internet has permeated every aspect of people’s social lives, including their religious practices. Nowadays, digital platforms provide users with the power to renegotiate conventional norms of religion and authority. In addition, social media influencers have the chance to create and share religious issues with a variety of online communities thanks to new digital platforms. In Morocco, recognizing these contemporary realities has become a key to approaching social change. The ability to define religion now relies on religious authorities and more on Muslims, who may now select from a wide range of authoritative figures for every topic due to new media platforms. This study uses a qualitative case study approach to investigate the digital content of Moroccan new online preachers, focusing on the content of a Moroccan religious preacher, Redwan Ben Abdessalam, who gains popularity in the Moroccan media. The study aims at studying how Muslim religious identities are deconstructed in light of a new religious lifestyle that seeks for deconstructing conventional religious authorities.
Arabic Tools for Assessment of Multidimensions of Pain and Discomfort Related to Cancer
Nabila, Rouahi,Mimoun, Zouhdi Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.5
Background: Cancer is a worldwide health problem. Arabic countries are also concerned and the burden linked to the pain related to cancer is dsiquieting. The aim of this study is to set the panel of valid tools for assessing the multiple dimensions of pain in arabic speaking countries. Materials and Methods: A systematic review on PubMed, Scopus, and Science Direct databases was conducted using as key words cancer, pain and arabic speaking population. The content of 51 articles was studied and nine articles were retained for their relevance for the issue. Results: We founf eight different questionnaires. MSAS-Leb, EORTC-C30, EORTC-BR23, MDASI, FLIC, and COOP/WONCA are dedicated to physical and psychological dimensions of pain. BPI is centered on direct items for measuring pain accurately. ABQ-II is the unique tool focusing on barriers to cancer pain control. All tools are confirmed valid and reliable in the context studied for assessing pain and disconfort linked to cancer. Conclusions: This panel of questionnaires covers all relevant aims for assessing pain in diferent arabic speaking countries with the recommendation of a cultural adaptation to local arabic languages.
Laying Off Versus Training Workers: How Can Saudi Entrepreneurs Manage the COVID-19 Crisis?
Asma RAIES,Mohamed BEN MIMOUN 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.4
This study aims to determine theoretically the best workers layoff/training strategy that entrepreneurs should apply to manage the COVID-19 crisis successfully. It also examines the impacts of the Saudi government’s emergency measures on firm performance. The paper develops a theoretical framework in which the optimal control technics is applied to model the entrepreneur’s hiring, layoff, and training behaviors. The results show that, during the current COVID-19 pandemic, the entrepreneur should first lay off the less productive workers to reduce labor costs. As more and more inefficient workers quit and profit increases, the entrepreneur starts expanding his activity and training workers. In the long run, only the training activity allows the firm efficiency to grow at a constant rate. This finding suggests that the key to long-run economic recovery in Saudi Arabia will rely on training, innovation, and adaptability to the new digital environment. The paper also shows that the Saudi government initiative of covering 60% of salaries for the small- and medium-sized entrepreneurs during the COVID-19 pandemic will enhance training activities in small- and medium-sized enterprises and improve their efficiency in both the short and long run. This policy will also prevent Saudi entrepreneurs from laying off half of their staff.
Modeling and Code Generation of Android Applications Using Acceleo
Hanane BENOUDA,Redouane ESSBAI,Mostafa AZIZI,Mimoun MOUSSAOUI 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Software Engineering and Vol.10 No.3
The development of mobile applications becomes increasingly popular in our daily life due to the intensive use of applications in mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. The diversity and variety of mobile operating systems (Android, iOS, Black Berry, Windows Phone, etc.) make software engineers in front of a big challenge to develop the same application for these different platforms. This paper presents a methodology based on the Model Driven Architecture (MDA) to develop mobile applications according to the principle “develops once, use everywhere”. Our approach exploits UML modeling and Acceleo to generate specific code in order to accelerate and facilitate the development of mobile applications.
Mourry, Ghita E.,Alami, Rachid,Elyadini, Adil,Hajjaji, Souad El,kabba, Saad El,Zouhdi, Mimoun Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute 2020 Safety and health at work Vol.11 No.2
Background: Medical laboratory workers are frequently exposed to a wide range of chemicals. This exposure can have adverse effects on their health. Furthermore, a knowledge lack of the chemical risk increases the likelihood of exposure. The chemical risk assessment reduces the risk of exposure to hazardous chemicals and therefore, guarantees health and safety of the workers. Method: The chemical risk assessment was conducted using a modified INRS method, according to the new CLP Regulation, of 11 unit laboratories in a Moroccan medical laboratory. Observation of each workstation and analysis of safety data sheets are key tools in this study. Results: A total of 144 substances and reagents that could affect the health of the analytical technicians were identified. Among these products, 17% are concerned by the low priority risk score, with 55% concerned by the average priority risk score and 28% concerned by the high priority risk score. This study also enabled to better identify the chemical agents that have restrictive occupational exposure limit value and controls were conducted to this effect. On the basis of the results obtained, several corrective and preventive measures have been proposed and implemented. Conclusion: Risk assessment is essential to ensure the health and safety of workers and to meet regulatory requirements. It enables to identify all the risky manipulations and to adopt appropriate preventive measures. However, it is not a one-time activity but it must be continuous in order to master the changes and thus ensure the best safety of all.
