During the last two centuries, the processes of Christian education and conversion have been considered polarized. This paper argues that for Christianity to flourish in the 21st century Christian Education and conversion should not only intersect, but can be mutually supportive. First, this paper explores the tragic split between "liberals" and "conservatives." Second, this paper will examine the emergence of a new form of Roman Catholic theology that considers conversion to be foundational to the theological enterprise of the contemporary church. Third, I will propose a theological agenda that brings conversion studies and Christian education together to meet the needs of the church in the 21st century by engaging post-modernism and inter-disciplinary studies in theological and religious studies. Fourth, a radical form of discipleship will be proposed that can unify or transcend the traditional "liberal" and "conservative" agendas. Through both Christian education and radical conversion we are called to be transformed into the image of Christ.

This study investigated the purification process of groundwater contaminated with zinc and arsenic using a permeable reactive barrier with a zero-valent iron/pumice mixture. We determined the removal rates of the contaminants for 30 days. In this study, column reactor filled with the zero-valent iron/pumice reactive mixture was used. Experimental results showed that the mixture exhibited an almost complete removal of the zinc and arsenic ions. Arsenic was removed via co-precipitation and adsorption processes while zinc ions were asorbed in active sites. The purification process of water from the metal ionscontinued for 30 days with constant hydraulic conductivity because of the enhanced porosity of the pumice and interparticle distance between the zero-valent iron and pumice. Contaminants removal rates and the remediation mechanism for each reactive system are described in this paper.
Measuring Top Management Commitment in SMEs: A Self-Assessment Scale
Lewis, Winston G.,Pun, Kit F.,Lalla, Terrence R.M. The Korean Society for Quality Management 2007 The Asian Journal on Quality Vol.8 No.3
This paper describes the development of a scale for measuring top management commitment towards continual quality performance improvement in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). A set of self-assessment questions of the ISO 9004: 2000 Standard was used to assess the adoption status of quality management practices. This paper investigates the inter-item reliability and the content validity of the Quality Management Principles Scale (QMPS) in an integrated improvement process in SMEs. An empirical study was conducted to acquire senior management views on the use of the QMPS in manufacturing sectors in Trinidad and Tobago. Based on 328 responses from 110 SMEs, statistical software packages were used to analyse the empirical data and determine the reliability and validity of the QMPS. The paper contributes to develop a self-assessment scale that can be used to measure top management commitment. It is anticipated that the findings would provide practical insights for evaluating the levels of maturity on performance improvement in SMEs.
