Corporate Governance Mechanisms and Bank’s Performance Evidence from Nepalese Commercial Bank

Good governance is foremost in order to develop good corporate working culture. Governance includes all formal and informal rules under certain principles of accountability, transparency, and the rule of law. The implementation of corporate governance certainly influences the performance of the firm. This study focuses on the corporate governance practices implemented by the commercial banks of Nepal and their impact on the bank’s financial performance taking 11(2010-2020) years secondary data. The data were collected from Banking and Financial Statistics published by Nepal Rastra Bank. In addition to this, different published articles, reports, books, and magazines were also used. Multiple regression analysis was used to test the significance and importance of corporate governance in Nepalese Commercial Banks, where the dependent variable used was financial performance (ROA ROE and MB ratio), whereas the independent variables were Board Size, Independent directors, Board Meeting, Bank size, foreign ownership, government ownership, Bank Age. The result shows a positive relation of Age, Board size, independent directors, foreign ownership, firms’ size with the performance of the bank, whereas board meeting and government ownership shows negative relation.
薄層 크로마토그라피와 指標 곰팡이의 利用에 의한 밀에 있어서 Triadimefon의 잔류량 분석

Macrophomina phaseolina균(菌)을 이용(利用)하여 살균제 Triadimefon의 밀 품종 Kharchia와 Lal Bahadur에 있어서 수확후의 잔류량을 조사한 결과 살포식물의 밀짚에서는 Triadimefon이 검출되었으나 밀 종자에서는 검출되지 않았다. 잔류량 조사를 위해 개발된 박층(薄層) 크로마토그라피에 의하여도 동일한 결과를 얻었다. 기주체내에서 Triadimefon은 Triadimenol로 전환되었다. By using the test fungus Macrophomina phaseolina, residues of triadimefon were found in straw collected after harvest from sprayed plants of wheat varieties Kharchia and Lal Bahadur but grains contain no such residues. Thin layer chromatographic method was developed to detect residues of the fungicide which was found to be present in straw of sprayed plants of both the varieties. No residues could be detected in grain samples. It was found that triadimefon was converted in triadimenol in/to host.

In this paper, we obtain some subsets of real numbers (ℝ) on which a fractional part function is defined as a real-valued continuous function. This gives rise to the analysis of the continuous properties of the fractional part function as a real-valued function. The analysis of fractional part function is helpful in the study of the dynamics of circle.

The present work deals with second order statistics of post buckling response of piezoelectric laminated composite cylindrical shell panel subjected to hygro-thermo-electro-mechanical loading with random system properties. System parameters such as the material properties, thermal expansion coefficients and lamina plate thickness are assumed to be independent of the temperature and electric field and modeled as random variables. The piezoelectric material is used in the forms of layers surface bonded on the layers of laminated composite shell panel. The mathematical formulation is based on higher order shear deformation shell theory (HSDT) with von-Karman nonlinear kinematics. A efficient $C^0$ nonlinear finite element method based on direct iterative procedure in conjunction with a first order perturbation approach (FOPT) is developed for the implementation of the proposed problems in random environment and is employed to evaluate the second order statistics (mean and variance) of the post buckling load of piezoelectric laminated cylindrical shell panel. Typical numerical results are presented to examine the effect of various environmental conditions, amplitude ratios, electrical voltages, panel side to thickness ratios, aspect ratios, boundary conditions, curvature to side ratios, lamination schemes and types of loadings with random system properties. It is observed that the piezoelectric effect has a significant influence on the stochastic post buckling response of composite shell panel under various loading conditions and some new results are presented to demonstrate the applications of present work. The results obtained using the present solution approach is validated with those results available in the literature and also with independent Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS).

Recognition of the role of radio galaxies in the universe has been increasing in recent years. Their colossal energy output over huge volumes is now widely believed to play a key role not only in the formation of galaxies and their supermassive black holes, but also in the evolution of clusters of galaxies and, possibly, the cosmic web itself. In this regard, we need to understand the inflation of radio bubbles in the hot gas atmospheres of clusters and the importance of the role that radio galaxies play in the overall energy budget of the intracluster medium. Here, we present results from X-ray and radio band observations of the hot gas atmospheres of powerful, nearby radio galaxies in poor clusters.
Rivina andamanensis (Petiveriaceae): a new species from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India

Rivina andamanensis (Petiveriaceae), a new species from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India, isdescribed and illustrated along with conservation status. Apparently, the new species is similar to Rivinahumilis L. but strictly differs in respect to its morphology of vegetative and floral characters. A taxonomickey to the species of Rivina Mart. from India is also provided.
A new species of genus Dendrophthoe Mart. (Lorantheae-Loranthaceae) from the Peninsular India

Dendrophthoe gamblei (Loranthaceae) a new species from the Peninsular India is described and illustratedalong with conservation status. Apparently, new species is similar to Dendrophthoe memecylifolia(Wight and Arn.) Danser but strictly differs in respect to its morphology of vegetative and floral characters. A taxonomic key to the species of Dendrophthoe Mart. from India is also provided.
The optimum conversion efficiency in nile blue arabinose system by photogalvanic cell

The Nile blue has been used as a photosensitizer with Arabinose as a reductant in photogalvanic cell for optimum conversion efficiency and storage capacity. Reduction cost of the photogalvanic cell for commercial utility. The generated photopotential and photocurrent are 816.0 mV and $330.0{\mu}A$ respectively. The maximum power of the cell is $269.30{\mu}W$ where as the observed power at power point is $91.28{\mu}W$. The observed conversion efficiency is 0.6095% and the fill factor 0.2566 has been experimentally found out at the power point of the photogalvanic cell, whereas the absolute value is 1.00. The photogalvanic cell so developed can work for 120.0 minutes in dark if it is irradiated for 200.0 minutes that is the storage capacity of photogalvanic cell is 60.00%. The effects of different parameters on the electrical output of the photogalvanic cell have been observed. A mechanism has also been proposed for the photogeneration of electrical energy.
