Outlier Detection Diagnostic based on Interpolation Method in Autoregressive Models
Cho, Sin-Sup,Ryu, Gui-Yeol,Park, Byeong-Uk,Lee, Jae-June The Korean Statistical Society 1993 Journal of the Korean Statistical Society Vol.22 No.2
An outlier detection diagnostic for the detection of k-consecutive atypical observations is considered. The proposed diagnostic is based on the innovational variance estimate utilizing both the interpolated and the predicted residuals. We adopt the interpolation method to construct the proposed diagnostic by replacing atypical observations. The perfomance of the proposed diagnositc is investigated by simulation. A real example is presented.

<P>We investigate the sign of the interfacial Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction (iDMI) energy density in system with inversion symmetry breaking for amorphous and polycrystalline ferromagnetic layers (CoFeB, Co) sandwiched by two different or the same heavy metals (Pt, Ta). By employing Brillouin light scattering, we observe non-reciprocal spin-wave dispersions which is a fingerprint of iDMI in SiO2/(Pt,Ta)/(CoFeB, Co)/(Pt,Ta) systems. We carefully confirm that the signs of DMI of structurally inverted systems are changed accordingly. Negative iDMI for SiO2/Pt/(CoFeB, Co)/Ta and positive iDMI for SiO2/Ta/(CoFeB, Co)/Pt are observed, and iDMI of the symmetric structures (Pt/CoFeB/Pt and Ta/CoFeB/Ta) are not measureable with our Brillouin light scattering setup due to a negligible iDMI. For amorphous CoFeB, the magnitudes of iDMI are the same within the experimental error regardless the stacking order. For the textured Co, however, the magnitude of iDMI for Pt/Co/Ta is about 30 % larger than Ta/Co/Pt structure.</P>

<P>Versatile control of cylindrical nanostructures formed by supramolecular assembly of end-functionalized polymer blends is demonstrated not only in their orientation over large areas but also in their surface chemical functionalities. Two binary blends consisting of supramolecular analogues of diblock copolymers with complementary end-sulfonated and aminated groups are investigated, <I>viz</I>., mono-end-functionalized polymers of (i) one-end-sulfonated polystyrene (SPS) and one-end-aminated poly(butadiene) (APBD) and (ii) one end-aminated polystyrene (APS) and one end-sulfonated poly(butadiene) (SPBD). The orientation of the cylinders with respect to the substrate surface depends on the solvent annealing time; either hexagonally ordered vertical cylinders or in-plane ones are readily obtained by controlling the solvent annealing time. Selective chemical etching of one of the polymers provides four different chemically modified nanostructures, <I>viz</I>., hexagonally ordered cylindrical holes and cylindrical posts with either sulfonate or amine surface functional groups. Additional supramolecular assembly is successfully achieved by solution coating either polymers or organic dyes that complementarily interact with the functional groups on the nanostructures. Furthermore, the supramolecularly assembled nanostructures are controlled by confining them to topographically pre-patterned Si substrates with pattern geometries of various shapes and sizes to produce globally ordered vertical or in-plane cylinders with chemical functionalities on their surfaces.</P>

<P>We investigate the interfacial Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction (iDMI) and the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) in the annealed inversion symmetry breaking structures (Pt/Co (CoFeB)/AlO<I>x</I> and Ta/CoFeB/AlO<I>x</I>) by Brillouin light scattering. The iDMI energy density of Pt/Co and Pt/CoFeB samples decreases while increasing annealing temperature, but the iDMI energy density of Ta/CoFeB sample slightly increases by increasing annealing temperature. By applying the thermal annealing process, PMA energies slightly increase at the Pt/Co interface; however, Pt/CoFeB, (Ta/CoFeB) structures are dramatically decreased (increased) by the annealing process. The effects of the annealing show complicate variation for iDMI and PMA for each structure; however, we find overall weak correlations between iDMI and PMA despite different materials and annealing process.</P>

We present a case of a primary retroperitoneal mucinous cystadenoma, which is a relatively rare tumor found exclusively in women. This tumor is difficult to correctly diagnose preoperatively. Although there is little published information regarding the CEA levels in the cystic fluid of cystic tumors arising in the retroperitoneum, a high CEA level in the cystic fluid is a useful diagnostic marker for a primary retroperitoneal mucinous tumor. The appropriate management of retroperitoneal mucinous cystadenomas is the total removal of the cyst. The retroperitoneal approach for retroperitoneal cystic tumors is useful, has a lower risk of traumatizing the bowel than the intra-abdominal approach, and does not require compression of the other organs. We report the successful resection of a retroperitoneal mucinous cystadenoma through the retroperitoneal approach.
Introduction of Brillouin Light Scattering for Spintronics Research

We will explain about Brillouin Light Scattering (BLS), which is an in-elastic light scattering with magnon of the magnetic samples. Magnon excitation frequency (or spin-wave (SW) resonance frequency) is determined by the dispersion relations of SW as a function of the basic magnetic properties of the samples, sample’s geometrical structure, SW wavevector, and external magnetic field. In BLS measurement, we varied the external magnetic field and obtained the basic magnetic properties of the sample by non-linear regression process, so that we can determine the saturation magnetization, anisotropy energy, exchange stiffness. In addition, we can also determine the interfacial Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya Interaction (iDMI) energy density by using non-reciprocal nature of the SW with non-zero iDMI. Since BLS is based on optical measurement, BLS has a lateral resolution of the laser beam spot size (~50 um), and BLS can measure the magnetic properties of the sub-nm ferromagnetic films. In this lecture, we will discuss about basic principles of BLS measurement and application of BLS for spintronics devices researches.
Enhanced Thermal Stability of Polyaniline with Polymerizable Dopants
Choi, Yeol Kyo,Kim, Hyeong Jun,Kim, Sung Ryul,Cho, Young Min,Ahn, Dong June American Chemical Society 2017 Macromolecules Vol.50 No.8
<P>Diacetylene (DA) is an amphiphilic structure and has been studied as a variety of PDA-based chemosensors. However, the prospect of using diacetylene (DA) as dopant of polyaniline (PANT) is yet to be reported. In this study, new amphiphilic PCDA-taurine and PCDA-pBzS dopants were synthesized by changing the primary functional group to a sulfonic group. These polymerizable dopants are photopolymerized by UV irradiation in PANI solution. Thereby we expect to enhance the thermal stability and sustain the conductivity of PANI. The polymerizable dopants were characterized by FT-IR, NMR, and GC-MS. PANI with polymerizable dopants was analyzed by resonance Raman spectroscopy (RRS). The thermal stability and conductivity of PANT were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Comparing the TGA results of PANT doped with general dopants with PANT doped with polymerizable dopants, we found that PANI with polymerizable dopants showed enhanced thermal stability.</P>
