      • SSR 마커를 통한 Atractylodes종의 판별

        Background : ‘baek-chul’(White atractylodes rhizome) widely used in traditional herbal remedies in Asia. A. Japonica and A. Macrocephala are used as ‘baek-chul’ in Japanese Pharmacopoeia but only A. Macrocephala is used as ‘baek-chul’ in Chinese Pharmacopoeia. Based on morphologic observation A. japonica has small infloresence diameter, white flowers and gynodioecism, whereas A. macrocephala has large inflorescence diameter, red flowers ,monoecism and developed rhizomes. but The distinction of these isn't easy. SSRs are very useful molecular markers for species identification. In this study, genetic diversity and identification between A. Japonica and A. Macrocephala were confirmed by SSR marker. Methods and Results : DNAs were extracted from leaf tissue of A. Japonica, A. Macrocephala and A. Japonica × A. Macrocephala (Breeding varieties, ‘Dachul’) using DNeasy plant Mini Kit (Qiagen, Hilen, Germany). these plants cultivated from RDA(Eumseong) and used for PCR amplification. The relative concentration of the extracted DNA was estimated Nano Drop ND-1000 (NanoDrop Technologies, Wilmington, De, USA) And final DNA concentration was adjusted to 5.5ng/μL. In this study 8 primer pairs were tested on 4 A. Japonica, 4 A. Macrocephala, 2 ‘Dachul’. These primers showed high polymorphism among and within four populations of A. macrocephala.(Zheng et al.). We detected interspecific and intraspecific SSR polymorphism by 3 primer pairs. Conclusion : The results showed that these markers were found to be useful for diversity analysis as they distinguished among Atractylodes spp. and also A.Macrocephala. This work is intended to serve as the basis for the breeding of new varieties in white atractylodes rhizome.

      • Eigendecomposition-Based GFDM for Interference-Free Data Transmission and Pilot Insertion for Channel Estimation

        <P>This paper proposes a new generalized frequency division multiplexing (GFDM) system that eliminates the effects of intrinsic interference and makes it possible to insert a pilot for channel estimation without interference. We express inter-subsymbol interference (ISI) and inter-carrier interference (ICI), which represent the intrinsic interference in GFDM systems, in a matrix form. The proposed GFDM system can remove the ISI through pre-processing and post-processing, which are done by eigendecomposition. We analytically derive the sufficient condition for the ICI removal. In this way, the proposed GFDM system is able to eliminate the effects of both the ISI and ICI. Furthermore, we investigate the prototype filter structures of the proposed GFDM system transformed by pre-processing and post-processing. We verify that the changed prototype filter structures are able to insert pilot symbols that are orthogonal to data symbols. Hence, the pilot symbols for channel estimation can be clearly observed. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed system has better BER performance than conventional GFDM systems when the channel estimation process is considered.</P>

        Intracellular Interaction of Interleukin (IL)-32α with Protein Kinase Cϵ (PKCϵ) and STAT3 Protein Augments IL-6 Production in THP-1 Promonocytic Cells

        <P>IL-32α is known as a proinflammatory cytokine. However, several evidences implying its action in cells have been recently reported. In this study, we present for the first time that IL-32α plays an intracellular mediatory role in IL-6 production using constitutive expression systems for IL-32α in THP-1 cells. We show that phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA)-induced increase in IL-6 production by IL-32α-expressing cells was higher than that by empty vector-expressing cells and that this increase occurred in a time- and dose-dependent manner. Treatment with MAPK inhibitors did not diminish this effect of IL-32α, and NF-κB signaling activity was similar in the two cell lines. Because the augmenting effect of IL-32α was dependent on the PKC activator PMA, we tested various PKC inhibitors. The pan-PKC inhibitor Gö6850 and the PKCϵ inhibitor Ro-31-8220 abrogated the augmenting effect of IL-32α on IL-6 production, whereas the classical PKC inhibitor Gö6976 and the PKCδ inhibitor rottlerin did not. In addition, IL-32α was co-immunoprecipitated with PMA-activated PKCϵ, and this interaction was totally inhibited by the PKCϵ inhibitor Ro-31-8220. PMA-induced enhancement of STAT3 phosphorylation was observed only in IL-32α-expressing cells, and this enhancement was inhibited by Ro-31-8220, but not by Gö6976. We demonstrate that IL-32α mediated STAT3 phosphorylation by forming a trimeric complex with PKCϵ and enhanced STAT3 localization onto the IL-6 promoter and thereby increased IL-6 expression. Thus, our data indicate that the intracellular interaction of IL-32α with PKCϵ and STAT3 promotes STAT3 binding to the IL-6 promoter by enforcing STAT3 phosphorylation, which results in increased production of IL-6.</P>

        A New Filter-Bank Multicarrier System: The Linearly Processed FBMC System

        <P>In this paper, we propose a linearly processed filter-bank multicarrier (LP-FBMC) system which employs faster than Nyquist signaling to remove residual intrinsic interferences. We represent the FBMC transceiver in a matrix form and then apply singular value decomposition-based linear transformation in order to convert the overlapped FBMC data into parallel independent interference-free data. This interference-free characteristic of the proposed LP-FBMC system enables the use of conventional multiple antenna configurations. Performance evaluations show that out-of-band emission performance of the proposed LP-FBMC system is superior to those of conventional quadrature amplitude-based FBMC (FBMC-QAM) and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing systems. Furthermore, the proposed LP-FBMC system outperforms the conventional FBMC-QAM in terms of bit error rate performance when high order modulation is employed under time-varying channel and multiuser uplink environment.</P>

        A Study on CNN based Production Yield Prediction Algorithm for Increasing Process Efficiency of Biogas Plant

        Recently, as the demand for limited resources continues to rise and problems of resource depletion rise worldwide, the importance of renewable energy is gradually increasing. In order to solve these problems, various methods such as energy conservation and alternative energy development have been suggested, and biogas, which can utilize the gas produced from biomass as fuel, is also receiving attention as the next generation of innovative renewable energy. New and renewable energy using biogas is an energy production method that is expected to be possible in large scale because it can supply energy with high efficiency in compliance with energy supply method of recycling conventional resources. In order to more efficiently produce and manage these biogas, a biogas plant has emerged. In recent years, a large number of biogas plants have been installed and operated in various locations. Organic wastes corresponding to biogas production resources in a biogas plant exist in a wide variety of types, and each of the incoming raw materials is processed in different processes. Because such a process is required, the case where the biogas plant process is inefficiently operated is continuously occurring, and the economic cost consumed for the operation of the biogas production relative to the generated biogas production is further increased. In order to solve such problems, various attempts such as process analysis and feedback based on the feedstock have been continued but it is a passive method and very limited to operate a medium/large scale biogas plant. In this paper, we propose "CNN-based production yield prediction algorithm for increasing process efficiency of biogas plant" for efficient operation of biogas plant process. Based on CNN-based production yield forecasting, which is one of the deep-leaning technologies, it enables mechanical analysis of the process operation process and provides a solution for optimal process operation due to process-related accumulated data analyzed by the automated process.

        전북지역 하수처리수 재이용 방안 연구

        본 연구는 전라북도 내 하수처리장 방류수를 효율적으로 재이용하기 위해 일일 방류량이 5,000 m<SUP>3</SUP> 이상 되는 12개 하수처리장을 대상으로 방류수 수질을 조사하고 처리장 주변 현황을 파악하여 용도별 재이용 가능성을 제안하는데 목적을 두었다. 추가적으로 방류수를 재처리하기 위한 실험실규모의 실험도 수행하였다. 방류수는 7개 용도별 수질기준에 근거하여 중금속 16개 항목을 포함한 총 28개 항목을 수질 분석하였다. 분석결과 부적합 항목은 색도, BOD, TN, SS, 염화물, 전기전도도 등 6개 항목이며, 색도와 TN이 각각 8개소, 5개소로 가장 높았다. 유입원수가 공단폐수 및 음식물처리수가 유입되는 처리장의 경우 염화물과 전기전도도가 높았다. 방류수 재처리없이 직접 재이용수로 가능한 처리장은 4개소였다. 실험실 규모의 실험(Lab test)은 모래여과(SF)-활성탄흡착(GAC)-정밀여과(MF)-역삼투압(RO) 순으로 실험을 수행하였다. 총대장균군, 색도, 부유물질(SS) 제거는 SF와 GAC조합이 경제성과 처리 효율면에서 가장 적절하였으며, 염화물과 전기전도도는 SF, GAC, MF에서는 큰 효과가 없었으며, RO처리 후 90% 이상의 제거효율을 보였다. UV254는 원수가 0.3651 /cm에서 SF-GAC공정 후 0.0306 /cm로 92% 이상의 높은 제거효율을 보였다. 중금속 중 총붕소(B-total)는 SF-GAC-MF-RO 처리 후 0.7054 mg/L에서 0.0854 mg/L로 88% 제거효율을 보였다. 결론적으로 각 처리장은 방류수 수질분석결과와 주변 지형을 고려하여 방류수 재이용 용도를 선택하여야 한다. 또한 재처리가 필요한 경우 처리할 수질 항목과 처리비용을 고려한 처리방법을 결정하는 것이 적절하다고 판단된다. This study was aimed at investigating effluent water quality and proposing reuse possibilities for 12 sewage treatment plants discharged more than 5,000 m<SUP>3</SUP>/day in order to recycle the sewage treatment plant effluent of Jeollabuk-do effectively. Additionally, a laboratory scale test for reprocessing water discharge was performed. Categories of reclaimed sewage water reuse were divided into 7 topics and analyzed a total of 28 items including 16 heavy metals based on water quality standard. As a results, color, BOD, TN, chloride and Electrical Conductivity (EC) exceeded reused water quality standard. In particular, color and TN exceeded in 8 and 5 sewage treatment plants, respectively. The value of chloride and EC were high in sewage treatment plants including the food and industrial wastewater. At 4 sewage treatment plants were possible to reuse without re-treatment. The laboratory scale test was conducted to SandFilter (SF)-Granular Activated Carbon (GAC)-MicroFiltraion (MF)-Reverse Osmosis (RO). Both the removal efficiencies and economic feasibility of total E. coli., color and Suspended Solid (SS) suited in case using the SF-GAC treatment method. The removal of chloride and EC had little effect in the case of SF-GAC-MF system, but RO showed over 90% of removal efficiency. After using SF-GAC process only, the concentration of UV254 decreased sharply from 0.3651 /cm to 0.0306 /cm and it showed over 92% of removal efficiency rate. In conclusion, for the effective reuse of sewage discharged water, water quality and the surrounding terrain of treatment plants should be all taken into account. If it needed for the reprocessing, both the selection for treatment and economic combination treatment methods will have to be considered.
