A homogeneous circular disk undergoing a contact force is considered to investigate the thermo-elastic characteristics, and the inquiry is based on the variations of outer surface temperature and angular velocity. The intensity of stresses grows with the increase of outer surface temperature, and the circumferential strain reacts more sensitively to the change of outer surface temperature than the radial strain. In general, higher angular velocity produces; (i) larger expansion in the radial direction, (ii) smaller displacement in the circumferential, (iii) diminished intensity in the stresses. It is demonstrated that outer surface temperature and angular velocity are critical factors in the determination of thermo-elastic characteristics of homogeneous circular disks subjecting to a contact force. The results obtained can be applied on the design of a homogeneous circular cutter to promote proper and reliable thermos-elastic characteristics in service by the proper operation of these parameters.
REACTIONS OF A SOLID TUMOR TO MEDICINE SUPPLIES
Jaegwi Go,Jung Il Song 한국산업응용수학회 2009 한국산업응용수학회 학술대회 논문집 Vol.4 No.2
A mathematical model is developed to describe the variation of solid tumors in responses to some medical supplies. Two types of drug, I₁ and I₂ are injected into heart and liver with flow injection rates k₁ and k₂, respectively. The concentration of tumor angiogenic factors (TAF) is dependent on the ratio of k₁ and k₂, which exerts influence on the density of tumor. At the first second tumor reacts sensitively to the medical supplies, and the density decreases to around 20% of the initial amount. Similar density continues until 22 second under the absence of ataxia, and the tumor disappears after that time.

The thermoelastic behaviors of such as temperature distribution, displacements, and stresses in thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) are seriously influenced by top coat thickness and edge conditions, which were investigated based on the thermal and mechanical properties of plasma-sprayed TBCs. A couple of governing partial differential equations were derived based on the thermoelastic theory. Since the governing equations are too involved to solve analytically, a finite volume method was developed to obtain approximations. The thermoelastic characteristics of TBCs with the various thicknesses and microstructures were estimated through mathematical approaches with different edge conditions. The results demonstrated that the top coat thickness and the edge condition in theoretical analysis are crucial factors to be considered in controlling the thermoelastic characteristics of plasma-sprayed TBCs.

The effects of axial forces to an arch subjecting to uniform radial loads
Go JaeGwi 한국산업응용수학회 2007 한국산업응용수학회 학술대회 논문집 Vol.2 No.1
The effects of axial forces to an arch subjecting to uniform radial loads are investigated. The clamped arches are more sensitive to axial forces than the hinged arches, and the curvature curves of an edge of the clamped arches undergoing a large axial forces fluctuate to the change of normal pressure. The balance of elemental length is used to derive a nonlinear equilibrium equation. The governing equation is solved numerically using the shooting method based on the fourth order Runge-Kuntta. 〈이미지 참조〉
The analysis of heart attack phenomenon
JaeGwi Go 한국산업응용수학회 2005 한국산업응용수학회 학술대회 논문집 Vol.- No.-
Hypoxia appears following arteriolar occlusion as the concentration of oxygen decreases. The development of anoxic area is analyzed mathematically through time course in a region containing multiple non-homogeneous capillaries. The exact analytic solution is used to simulate heart attack phenomenon.
Oxygen Delivery Through Capillaries
JaeGwi Go 한국산업응용수학회 2005 한국산업응용수학회 학술대회 논문집 Vol.- No.-
The determination of oxygen concentration profiles in surrounding tissue of capillaries is a most interesting problem in studying mathematical biology. The mathematical analysis of oxygen distribution in a region containing multiple non-homogeneous capillaries is presented. Even the occurrence of anoxia area after losing stable state by rough movements such as exercise is explained using exact solution.
NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF A LAMINATED COMPOSITE ELASTIC FIELD WITH ROLLER GUIDED PANEL
JAEGWI GO,MOHAMED AFSAR ALI 한국산업응용수학회 2010 Journal of the Korean Society for Industrial and A Vol.14 No.2
An elastic field composed of symmetric cross-ply laminated material is analyzed in roller guided panel. The plane stress elasticity problem is formulated in terms of two displacement parameters with mixed boundary conditions. The numerical solution for two displacement parameters is obtained using a finite element method considering a panel of glass/epoxy laminated composite. Some components of stress and displacement at different sections of panel are displayed. The results makes sure that the formulation developed in this study can be applied to analyze the characteristics of elastic field made of laminated composite under any boundary conditions.
